Chapter 31 - The Hero Arrives

Elsewhere Alex was sprinting at full speed to the floors above he knew, no, he just felt like that was the right way his heart guided him and he would be god dammed if he were to ignore it. Not now. Not ever. And just then a man came into view, a man he knew very well.

"Alexander... You disappoint me" The familiar mans voice boomed

"... Father" Alex spoke in a melancholic tone since the death of his siblings Alex had long given up on his father, he saw him less as a nurturing dad and more as a diseased plague he wished to cut out of his life... Alex drew his swords and as did his father.

Clanging resounded throughout the vast halls as steel met steel over and over again neither of them seeming to have the upper hand...

"Father... allow me to show you the power I've gain in spite of you and most definitely in spite of our clan... Whiteblood style swordplay 6th form [Reflective Moon Ray]" as he stated this his sword began to shine an elegant, beautiful yet sombre light filled the room cutting through the underlying tension in this light two silhouettes could be seen one dazzling, bright yellow if an outside viewer were to view this a smile would likely form across their face.

And on the other side facing him a much larger and darker silhouette appeared. It had the legs of a goat, the horns of a ram a disgustingly wide mouth far larger than it should be and 2 sets of eyes that shone a horrible colour.

"I see... A part of me hoped there was something good in you however your intentions, your beliefs, your inner self its grim, Father, you're a monster and unfortunately a large part of my job is cutting down monsters"

The light began to fade less and less, quickly until all that remained was a single thread of light going from Alex's sword to his Fathers heart and as the light stopped fading Alex appeared to fade from his Fathers vision.

"W-Where did he go" asked Abbadon Yellowhorn "and... why do I feel so cold" just then he had decided to look down and there he saw a hole through his heart caused by his own flesh and blood.

"You... You bastard... you besmirch our family so" Abbadon managed to spit out before the light faded from his eyes.

"No Father.... the one who insulted and besmirched our family was you... this is for the suffering you caused Mother, Jane, Alaric, Cedric, Leopold, Octavian and Thaddeus and for trying to keep me from the woman I... From a friend" Alex replied in a sombre tone of voice his last actions weighing deeply on his heart.

However, he had not time to wait, he had to help Sam and he had a sinking feeling there was but a door between him and the wedding, he only hoped he had made it in time as he began to push the door open.

Since her departure the day prior Sam had been struggling, with herself, with leaving her friends... People she considered family... With the note she had left Alex all of it had been weighing deeply on her mind, she thought back to when she had first arrived at the castle...

"Ah Samantha, are you done with your gallivanting, acting like the common lot? Has it come to you that you're role here is much more important than any adventuring you could want, child" as her father asked her this her anger rose a red hot flaming rage... However she decided it was best to quell it... For now at least "well I suppose its time you meet your fiancé, the help will take you to him" as her father had stated that one of the staff had come to take her away.

"Father..." Sam began to speak before quieting down

"What is it? Child"

Sam found her voice falling at her throat "n-nothing"

"Good"

She was brough to a room.... her room but when the door was opened it was not as she had left it. Gone were the small library she had managed to acquire, the magical textbooks, the wands she practiced with as a kid when should couldn't control her mana the way she was now it was bare almost with the exception of a tall man sat in the centre surrounded with two women on either side of him.

"Oh... So you're Samantha I take it the newest of my women" The man spoke in a deep booming voice, so you're to be my wife I hear, lets just hope you're good with your hands"

Rage began to bubble up in her chest a rage she could never let out... too many lives depended on it... even if she could tear this man apart with 1 word she had to remain calm. This was the prince of another country after all if she killed him, hell if she even injured him an all-out war would breakout... hundreds of people maybe even thousands would die... she had to remain calm. she sat down in the room not a word said.

"A woman who knows her place?? excellent, you'll do well" Prince Kasian Acorn spoke loudly.
