Nina Walsh turned on the light and walked to the front door. The knocking didn't stop.
She stood behind the door and glanced through the peephole.
'Cameron Lawson?'
Nina Walsh opened the door. "Mr. Lawson, what brings you here?"
Cameron Lawson looked frantic. Seeing Nina Walsh behind the door, he asked urgently, "Miss Walsh? Is Michelle Quinn here?"
"Shelly isn't back today."
Before Nina Walsh could react, Cameron Lawson had turned back, entered the elevator, and vanished in the blink of an eye.
Nina Walsh closed the door and checked the time. It was already 1:00 AM.
A sense of unease settled in her. She took out her phone and sent Michelle Quinn a message. When Michelle didn't reply, she tried calling, but there was still no answer.
'Perhaps she's already asleep.'
Nina Walsh returned to bed, feeling uneasy. She tossed and turned all night.
