Rick stared at the dying old man on the medical bed.
Silas Warner. The billionaire bastard who had ordered a hit on him. The man who owned the Alps mountain vault. Now, he was just a fragile, wrinkly sack of bones hooked up to a dozen plastic tubes.
Rick had to stop himself from laughing out loud. The irony was absolutely perfect.
"Well, don't just stand there," the blonde girl snapped. She crossed her arms, her heavy breasts pushing together. "Doctor Williams, get to work. Save my father."
Rachel shook off her initial shock. She was a professional. She stepped up to the medical bed and started checking the monitors. She picked up Silas's thin wrist to feel his pulse. She shined a small penlight into his dull, unresponsive eyes.
Rick stepped back and let the system do its thing. He didn't need a medical degree. He had a cheat code.
'System, scan the old man,' Rick commanded in his mind.
