Chapter 1: Chaos in the market

**promise**

I had been working hard every day to support myself after my mother left.

I sold goods in the market, trying to make ends meet.

But one day, chaos erupted when a mysterious lady appeared, taking people away with her.

Despite the presence of police, no one seemed able to stop her.

Before I could react, the lady swiftly grabbed my arm, pulling me away from my market stall.

I tried to struggle free, but her grip was surprisingly strong.

The police watched helplessly as I was dragged away, unsure of what fate awaited me.

The lady took me to a secluded mansion on the outskirts of the city, where I was introduced to Mother Adah.

I was locked in a single room until a security guard took me out, covering my eyes with a piece of cloth.

I was brought before Mother Adah, who revealed she had been searching for me.

Her knowledge of my market activities unnerved me, and I chose to remain silent.

She instructed the security to take me to the girls' hostel.

Meanwhile, during the morning training, Lion collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Later, Mother Adah's security commander, who oversaw the boys' hostel, visited Lion to check on his condition.

I wasn't present, but I later learned about the visit. The commander asked Lion, "Are you feeling better now?"

Lion replied, "Good, sir," despite being in pain. The commander nodded and said, "Okay, good."

After visiting Lion, the commander returned to Mother Adah's office, reporting, "I just got back from Lion."

Back at the boys' hostel, I wasn't there, but the atmosphere was tense.

Spider stood up from his bed, expressing his frustration to the others.

"How I wish he shouldn't come back forever again," he said, clearly referring to Lion's hospitalization.

Crab stood up, dropping his book on his bed, and moved closer to Spider.

"Hey bro, are you jealous of Lion?" Crab asked, his tone provocative.

He touched Spider's arm, pushing his buttons.

Spider's reaction was immediate; he wanted to punch Crab but was restrained by the others.

The tension between Spider and Crab was palpable, and it seemed like there was more to their animosity than met the eye.

As I was sitting on my bed looking helpless and confused.

Puffin's warm smile put me at ease, and I felt grateful for her kindness.

"Thanks for welcoming me," I said, trying to sound friendly.

Just then, Ladybug stormed in, her eyes flashing with anger.

She glared at me before flopping onto her bed, muttering under her breath.

Puffin's expression turned cautious. "Don't mind Ladybug," she whispered.

"She's just having a bad day."

I wondered what had triggered Ladybug's outburst.

Was it something specific, or was she always this volatile?

Puffin seemed to sense my curiosity. "Let's just say Ladybug has her own demons to deal with," she said softly.

Puffin's words sparked a connection between us. "I think we all do," I replied, smiling weakly.

As I chatted with Puffin, I began to notice the different personalities and dynamics within the hostel.

Some girls seemed close, while others kept to themselves.

As Ladybug overheard snippets of conversation about Lion's hospitalization, her concern grew.

She pieced together fragments of information, wondering what had really happened.

Ladybug's demeanor changed from anger to worry. "What happened to Lion?" she demanded, her voice shaking slightly.

Puffin hesitated before explaining, "He was hospitalized after an incident.

But don't worry, he's receiving the best care."

Ladybug's expression softened, and she looked concerned. "I need to see him," she said, her voice firm.

Puffin cautioned, "I'm not sure that's possible, Ladybug. Mother Adah's rules are strict."

Ladybug's jaw set in determination. "I'll find a way," she said, her eyes flashing with resolve.
