Evander pushed the mutant dog corpse off his body and glanced afterwards at the gun on the bloody floor, just a foot away from the carcass.
Half of his face was covered in black veins, while the other half was still human. It was very noticeable, even with the fresh and dried blood stains. His eyebrows knitted, and an unquenchable thirst to devour the flesh of a human being emerged in his consciousness, which made him extremely disgusted.
Just before he completely pulled the trigger to take his life, a black shadow jumped from the side. He had used the gun and the last bullet out of reflex, and now he was left with no choice but to undergo a zombie transformation.
But he really didn't want to be a zombie at all.
He crawled towards the shattered window with determination, wanting to jump out, but just halfway through, his body was overwhelmed with a tremendous burning and painful sensation, like there were thousands of lava worms gnawing on his flesh and blood.
