Dimitri pushed him off easily. The scalpel made an incision in the rotten skin around the bite wound in Hamed's left arm. "If you didn't overestimate yourself in the first place, this man wouldn't be in harm's way." He spoke without care for his feelings as the blade sliced off a small section of the rotten tissue. A gleam flashed in his eyes. Another piece of research material was obtained. He said in his mind that he was pleased with the fortuitous event. This was a better sample than the live zombie bound and snarling in the corner.
Carlisle coughed out and clutched his stomach, which was elbowed by Dimitri. As much as he wanted to retort, he couldn't do so because Hamed had save him at the expense of his own life. He was at fault. Now, he couldn't do anything but pray. Pray that what Magnus said before comes true, and Hamed will be lucky enough to awaken his ability.
