Chapter 2 - The Slave's Plight (2)

Li Tian vividly recalls the sorrowful day that forever etched itself in his memory, the day he was torn away from his family, home, and cherished memories. The pain of abandonment and the confusion surrounding his circumstances weigh heavily on his young heart as he navigates the treacherous path of servitude.

In the recesses of his mind, as he trudges through the dusty streets, Li Tian engages in a private banter, a conversation with his inner self, seeking solace amidst the turmoil.

"Why did they do this? Why did they abandon me?" he silently questions, the anguish in his voice resonating with the pain he carries. His mind swirls with a whirlwind of emotions, a cocktail of anger, confusion, and longing.

"Was it our family's debts? Were they forced into this?" he wonders, trying to grasp onto any semblance of reason. But the answers elude him, leaving him with an aching void in his heart.

As he passes by bustling market stalls, Li Tian's gaze falls upon a pair of children, carefree and laughing, their parents watching over them protectively. A pang of jealousy and longing shoots through his being, a sharp reminder of the family he was forcibly torn away from.

"Will I ever see them again? Will they remember me, their lost son?" he wonders, his voice filled with a mix of desperation and hope. He yearns for his family's embrace, for the warmth and love he once knew.

But reality harshly snaps him back to the present as his master's whip cracks in the air, lashing against the back of another slave. Li Tian winces at the sound, his body tense with the knowledge that he is at the mercy of those who hold power over him.

"Who am I now? A nameless slave, stripped of my identity," he muses bitterly. The weight of the shackles around his wrists and ankles becomes a physical manifestation of his loss, a constant reminder of the life he once had.

As he labors under the unforgiving sun, his mind races, seeking refuge in the distant memories of his family. Their faces flicker in his mind, their voices whispering words of love and encouragement. It is their unwavering presence that fuels his determination, igniting a fire within him that refuses to be extinguished.

"I will rise above this. I will reclaim my identity, my freedom," Li Tian's inner voice declares with unwavering resolve. He clings to the sliver of hope that resides within him, vowing to transcend the life of servitude and find his rightful place in the cultivation world.

With each step he takes, Li Tian's spirit grows stronger. Though battered and scarred, his determination burns brightly. He knows that the road ahead will be treacherous, fraught with obstacles and uncertainties. But he is prepared to face them head-on, for within him lies the strength of a thousand ancestors and the unwavering love of a family he longs to reunite with.
