The next morning, everyone gathered in the courtyard where the final episode's shoot was to begin. The village air was cool and faint mist hang in the air.
But as the staff counted heads, a small ripple of confusion spread.
"Where is Yu Beiyi?" Fu Xing finally asked, scanning the group.
Quan Kunjie was the one who answered. "She is sick. Resting."
"What?" Fu Xing blinked in shock. "This is the final episode… she's going to miss out on the last episode shoot?"
"She can't shoot," Quan Kunjie replied, face completely emotionless, as if stating the most ordinary fact.
"Alright then… I guess we have to start without her…"
Beside him, Xia Lihua slowly narrowed her eyes. Something felt off.
Quan Kunjie didn't answer.
And that silence was confirmation.
