The Ancient Seraph silently lowered his head after receiving the thought transmission. He continued to walk forward, and the sword of light in his hand shattered noiselessly, dissolving into a rain of light that spread across the surrounding worlds.
The Void Serpent's probing attack came from the distant void, from an existence of the same level as him. It wasn't of much use, and the entity behind it hadn't even intended to harm him.
This attack seemed merely to be a response to the previous warning.
No offense was intended, nor a desire to be enemies, but it also conveyed an unwillingness to back down from any challenge!
This was the underlying message of the attack. In fact, this was the unwritten rule among the few eternal beings who roamed the void: "If you don't provoke me, I won't provoke you!"
In the vast void, there was hardly anything left worth waging wars over between eternal beings. Thus, the interactions between eternals tended to be peaceful.
Because if they fought, both sides would only suffer losses without gaining anything.
However, if a race without an eternal being came into conflict with one that did have one, the result would never be peaceful.
If the Titans had no eternal among them, or if the Seraphim didn't have their ancestor still watching over them, the world of Erathia would have already been destroyed by more than three Archdemons joining forces. The weak have no right to peace!
…
Meanwhile, in the world of Erathia, a thought was transmitted into the sky above the Titan lands:
"War!"
Along with this thought came a very clear coordinate in the void.
However, what the Seventh Demon Lord, who was challenging the Eternal Titan, didn't know was that the Sixth Demon Lord had already made his move and fallen back into slumber.
The only response to the Seventh Demon Lord's challenge was a half-hearted attack, which immediately ended the battle. The Seventh Demon Lord was the only one sincerely seeking a fight with the Eternal Titan. This was his first negotiation with an eternal being outside his race, as he had only recently ascended to eternity.
…
"What on earth is happening?"
Muria gazed up at the sky filled with strange phenomena, a look of confusion in his eyes and a trace of helplessness in his heart.
The location of Synapse was peculiar. When he looked eastward, he could see an endless darkness creeping toward him. If he looked up, there were three suns aligned in the sky, two of which radiated a familiar golden light, evoking a sense of warmth in him.
The usual sun hanging in the sky had also changed, as if the entire world was in turmoil. The solar flares from the corona surged, and it seemed as if a massive beast was stretching within the sun's flames.
Looking to the west, he could see the edge of a superstorm, where a massive bird, resembling the Wind King Eagle, spread its wings and let out a loud cry.
In the south, he could see endless tornadoes shooting up to the sky, with the ocean seeming to rise into the heavens under some great force, as a giant beast, similar to the Sea Emperor Dragon but far larger, swam through the chaos.
Muria didn't need to guess what these creatures were. They were the Primordial World-Beast Ancestors, born from the world itself during ancient times, wielding power comparable to the ancient gods. Muria had heard that during the Primordial Era, these World-Beast Ancestors had slaughtered many ancient gods, particularly those from beyond the world.
"What's causing all this commotion?" Muria was utterly bewildered. However, it wasn't just him; in fact, only about ten entities in all of Erathia, including the World-Beast Ancestors, knew what was happening.
Everyone else, including the majority of gods, was just as confused. They had no idea what was causing these strange phenomena.
"Cassio, you should be able to observe the anomalies where you are. I won't bother describing what I'm seeing right now. Can you tell me what's causing all this?" Muria asked.
"Apologies, young master. I don't know. We don't have any related cases to reference at the moment."
"You don't know?" Muria was stunned. Cassio's response meant that even the Titan archives contained no records of similar events, which was astonishing in itself.
"Cassio, is there nothing unusual happening on the Void Battlefield?" Muria continued to ask. Since there was no intel, he could only rely on his own reasoning.
The World-Beast Ancestors were the protectors of the world. When the world was under great threat, they would rise up to eliminate anything that endangered it. Now that three of these Ancestors had awakened, it suggested that the world of Erathia was facing a threat capable of tearing it apart.
This line of reasoning sent a chill down Muria's spine. A deep sense of fear and helplessness flooded his heart. He wanted to refute his own deduction, but his rational mind told him that it was not wrong.
When he had destroyed the ecosystem of the Synapse Subcontinent, the World-Beast Ancestors had appeared to prevent a mass extinction. And now, with Ancestors of this level awakening, there had to be a disaster they needed to resolve. What kind of catastrophe could this be? One that could potentially wipe out all life in the world?
Where was this threat to Erathia coming from? Muria had no idea. He hadn't even heard of such an entity.
"Your Highness, the two suns in the sky have disappeared!" The voice of Mia, his maid, rang out beside him.
"Hmm?" Muria looked up to the sky. The phenomenon of the three suns had vanished. And with the disappearance of the two suns, all the world's anomalies began to subside. The sun grew calm again, with no more solar flares from the corona.
The darkness dissipated, the ocean returned to stillness, the storms in the sky broke apart, and the earthquakes on the main continent ceased. The world returned to normal order within a short period, as if nothing had ever happened.
…
In an unknown cluster of worlds, the void vortex that had vanished for a time reappeared, drawing nearby worlds toward it once more.
"Pain!"
A low murmur emerged from the vortex, laden with complex emotions—mainly frustration, anger, and a trace of confusion.
"Why is there such a difference? We are all eternal, so why am I so much weaker?"
The vortex's pull gradually intensified, expanding in both range and scale. However, this vortex was different from the previous one. In its center, golden lights shimmered, magnificent and brilliant.
…
"Your Highness, the Void War is over!" Just as Muria was still unsettled by the strange phenomena of the world, he finally received clear news. Outside the cluster of worlds that made up Erathia, the Archdemons that had pursued his grandmother had all retreated, marking the end of the war.
"Is it really over?" Muria felt a sense of emptiness in his heart. The war, from its outbreak to its end, seemed to have nothing to do with him. He didn't even have the qualification to be a mere observer.
He could only gather fragments of information, piecing them together in his mind to imagine the full picture. And even then, he had no way to verify if what he imagined was true.
"Yes, it's over," Cassio confirmed. Then, addressing Muria's earlier request, she added, "Young Master Muria, you mentioned wanting to see the process of the world digesting the remnants of an epic being. Now there's an even better opportunity. Would you like to go?"
"What?" Muria asked in confusion, frowning. "Cassio, stop beating around the bush and just tell me everything at once."
"As you wish, Your Highness! Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, recently captured an Archdemon. Now that the war is over, he plans to sacrifice this Archdemon alive to the world to create his own divine subordinate. This process is far more intense than watching the world digest epic remains. Would you like to observe it?"
"Of course I would," Muria quickly agreed. There was no way he could refuse such a rare opportunity.
"Then I will contact Lord Hades and apply for a spot for you."
"Apply?"
"Yes, other Titans will also be notified. You likely won't be the only one observing this sacrifice."
"When can I go?" Muria inquired.
"I'm not sure about that. You'll just have to wait for the notification!"
"Alright, I understand."
…
Now that he knew the Void War had ended and there was nothing to worry about, Muria eagerly awaited the upcoming spectacle as he continued leading the war against Synapse.
For some unknown reason, the intensity of the war on the Synapse Subcontinent had drastically lessened. The evil god avatars rarely descended anymore, and the Synapse army's advance was getting faster each day. Now, the Synapse army encountered nothing but empty cities, as all the residents had disappeared without a trace. It seemed as though all the evil gods had reached a consensus to abandon their playground and stop resisting Muria.
However, as his army conquered more territories, Muria found himself with an ever-increasing workload. Even with the secretary department he had established to handle large volumes of affairs, freeing up more time for his cultivation, there were still hundreds of important matters each day that required his personal attention.
