Karl's POV
Outside Teacher Joey's office, Cecilia hid at the corner of the staircase in the corridor, discreetly peeking her head out to watch.
Even from a distance, I could tell she was nervous, her eyes glued to the office door.
Finally, I appeared at the other end of the corridor. Looking rather weary and showing signs of fatigue, I walked across the corridor, occasionally coughing as I approached.
When Cecilia saw me nearing the office door, she fully extended her head, calling out softly, "Karl, Karl."
I caught sight of her, paused my steps, let my hand fall, and raised an eyebrow slightly. We locked eyes. One second, two seconds, three seconds. Cough. I turned my head, coughing lightly once again. It seemed like I was unwell.
Cecilia furrowed her brow, about to call out to me, but I had already calmly withdrawn my gaze. Raising my hand again, I pushed open the office door.
It creaked. Slam. All that remained for her was the tightly closed yellow door.
