Chapter 3 - Chapter three

Her soul kept on falling down an abyss for what seemed like forever.

She lazily opened her eyes, it had been approximately two days since she started falling, the reason? it was simple, she had died. She wasn't really upset about it as she was now finally free from that man, the torture turned out to be unbearable as she couldn't take it anymore and ended up killing herself. After she died she soon arrived here falling without anything to cover her body, would this be her new life? It was rather boring. She soon closed her eyes and drifted back into sleep.

" Young miss, young miss ", someone called out, were they referring to her? She felt a soft breeze on her face, that's strange.... she couldn't feel anything in the void but now she was feeling chilly?

She slowly opened her eyes only to be greeted by Ray's of sunlight which she used her hands to block but she suddenly looked at her hands, they were smaller, much smaller. She quickly sat up startling the people around her. Where am I? Who am I? Confusion couldn't describe what she was feeling. She was in a strange room in a strange world surrounded by strange people. Was she dreaming? She decided to pinch herself to check but instantly regretted it. It was freaking real.

" Young miss, are you okay? ", a voice asked, she soon realized she wasn't alone in the room, there were countless of eyes staring at her but she soon realized these were her servants. New images began to flood her memory. She was the only legitimate daughter of Robert Stone and the princess of the Stone household. She was a spoilt fourteen year old who always got what what she wanted and was cruel to everyone one around her. She had such a nasty behavior and reputation that even her parents got tired and let her do as she wished.

" Abigail, are you all right? ", an older boy who was around sixteen years of age rushed into the room. He was her brother, Gabriel. He hugged his sister tightly not planning on letting go. " Don't scare me like that again "

What did he mean? Oh yeah.... When coming back from the town, her carriage toppled on a bridge causing her to fall out into the water below and she was quickly rushed to the manor. The old occupant of the body had died not long after that making the body available for her soul.

Lauren...no, Abigail had been given a second chance at life !! She still couldn't believe it, how could that happen? Gabriel soon saw the confused look on his sister's face and knew she needed time to rest so he dismissed some servants and asked a few to get her something to eat.

" It's okay Abigail, your safe now "

She nodded absentmindedly as she continued staring at her hands still wondering how this even happened, she even proceeded to pinch her arm to see if it was real.

Gabriel widened his eyes in surprise as he saw her pinching herself and believed she was still out of it. "Abigail, what are you doing? Stop", he held her wrists to stop her.

She didn't listen to a thing he was saying as only one thing was on her mind.

'I'm free! I'm free!!', the smile that crept on her face made him even more worried for her wellbeing, "Abigail? Are you okay? You know I'm here right? You don't have to be scared okay? I'm here"

" I know, thank you brother ", she replied practically beaming at him which greatly took him by surprise. She actually called him brother? She told him thank you? She was smiling at him? This triple attack nearly knocked him out.

" What's wrong brother? ", she asked seeing his shocked expression.

" N-nothing, I'm just happy your well now ", he said giving her a small smile which she immediately returned. Almost immediately, she felt her body shudder from cringe out of no where. Was it because of the smiling? What the heck was wrong with this body?

She soon figured it out, it turns out the original Abigail was a real brat that for some reason despised showing affection and enjoyed being a pain in the ass to every living thing around her. This little hellion was similar her old self before she was thrown into this foreign world.

She wanted to say something to him but some servants walked in with a tray of food and medicine at that moment. Her brother then helped her to sit properly as she was still weak.

" Eat properly, I still have lessons to attend, I'll come check on you later ", Gabriel said as he left the room and only Abigail and a maid remained. The atmosphere felt really awkward as the maid just stood there bowing her head and not talking to her.

She felt bothered at first but soon got used to the atmosphere, she always had maids at her beck and call in her past life and had never felt the need to make the latter comfortable in her presence. She had wanted not to act out of character from the former Abigail but something didn't sit right in her stomach. She was given a second chance for whatsoever reason and didn't want to live it like she did in the past, especially after how it ended for her. If she wanted to change, why not take it one step at a time? She pondered as she looked at the food before her.

" Martha..."

" Yes young miss!! ", Martha shuddered at her voice which made her frown.

" Why don't you withdraw from serving me ", Abigail voiced out.

" Y-young miss?..."

" You're clearly terrified of me if I'm not wrong but why have you continued to serve me? I believe it's easy to for you to be assigned to a new duty post", Abigail said as she casually sipped on the herbal tea given to her. She knew that was a stupid question because the maids can't easily change their posts.

Seeing that Martha remained silent Abigail sighed and gently put the tea cup down, " From now on you can rest assured that I won't be causing trouble any longer ", she said as she continued eating her meal.

Martha was stunned, she had never heard her young miss speak in such a manner to her, or to anyone. What did she mean by not causing trouble anymore? Her mind was filled with a series of questions that seemed to go on forever. On the other hand, Abigail silently praised herself for acting accordingly. She then slowly set the tray aside and gingerly got out of bed and stretched her aching muscles. She looked around the room before proceeding to walk out the door.

" Young miss!! ", she quickly ran after her with the tray brought earlier.

Abigail decided to walk round the the manor, though her past self had been around it countless of times she still decided to give herself a tour to familiarize herself better. The manor was grand unlike anything she had ever seen in her past life, it was clear that this family was very well to do. It seemed like she was never destined to be poor in both lives. Every servant she passed never failed to bow once but she swore she saw a hint of disappointment in their eyes, like they were sad she had survived or even woken up.

But the more she looked at them, the more it became familiar to her, the former Abigail most have really been someone they all wanted gone. She couldn't help feeling pity towards the young girl, she might have been a hellion but did it warrant such looks? She could tell from the former Abigail's blurry memories that people gave her these looks no matter what she did and she understood it must have been difficult for this little girl to change because of it.

But worst of all, this little girl reminded her of herself.

As she continued down the grand corridors for the sake of her tour, she quickly found herself growing tired when she hadn't even walked that far. Her legs were growing numb and her rate quickened, her breathing became slightly labored as well. She had to stop walking for a bit, she looked at her hands that shook.

'What are terrible physique', she thought to herself as she mentally assessed this new body of hers. How could this young body be several times worse than her old body? It's not like her old body wasn't fit at all, it was quite the opposite.

In her past life, her physique was one of the best among her generation as she had the potential to become a high ranking athlete. She excelled in almost all kind of sports and could easily walk three kilometers and still won't be out breath. Her current body's physique was simply to bad!

Her original plan on getting her was to live a hassle free life here, but how could she when she felt uncomfortable in her own skin? She honestly wasn't looking forward to any kind of exercise but if she wanted to live well she had no choice.

Just as she was lost in thought, she had made a turn down another corridor but had managed to bump into someone. Their forehead thumped against each other in the most unpleasant manner causing her to recoil with her hands massaging her forehead.
