"I'm getting tired of you ignoring me, Hassan. How long is it going to take to forgive me? I'm your wife for goodness sake!" Amelie yelled out. She was frustrated, and there was anger in her voice.
"You can't keep ignoring me like this. I've apologized for what happened, and I've been trying to make things right. It's been a week, and I can't take your silent treatment any longer" She continued, her voice rising with every word she said.
I finally looked up at her, my expression almost blank and cold "You think apologizing once is enough? You have no idea how hurt I've been. You think cheating is something everybody handles well?" I scolded in a softer voice. My voice was deep, raising it would do nothing but raise questions in the neighborhood. I didn't want the neighbors thinking that this was a toxic marriage. Amelie and I had our differences, and although I was trying hard to forget that she cheated on me with her ex husband, doing so was extremely hard.
