"Ha!" Hera exclaimed. "What are you talking about?" she asked with an exaggerated expression of shock and hurt on her face. She believed that Raymond was hurting her so as to influence the look on her face. Hera knew that a good liar had to believe their lies so as to sell the lie effectively and successfully.
"I took care of you every day and all the hours of the day only for you to say this to me?"
She rose from where she was sitting and began to pace from one end to the other while her hands were propped on her waist.
"They are feeding you the wrong information and trying to turn your face against those who are loyal to you…those who are really for you," Hera continued breathlessly.
Raymond watched in something that was akin to awe. The woman could lie and act beyond whatever he could imagine. He was stunned and almost respected her talent for deceit. He drummed his fingers on his knees as he signaled to one of the servants to do what he had ordered a few moments ago.
