Chapter 4 - I'm Not Doing Anything

Princess Vittoria Olympia of the Romana family of Olympus

"Look at you, you look like a raccoon."

I let out a fake laugh before I had a blank expression on my face, "Your friend is heartbroken and you're making fun of her."

"You're toxic, I thought you liked Pierre," Tricia laughed as she sat on my vanity's counter top as I applied my face cleanser to my face.

Tricia. My Tritri. She was chaos in human form but somehow the smartest person I knew. Light milk chocolate skin that glowed like she bathed in honey, sharp brown eyes that saw right through everyone's BS, and red braids that she wore like a crown. Today they were piled in a messy bun on top of her head, with a few braids framing her face. She was taller than me by a good margin, and she never let me forget it.

I had called her over immediately after my bath because if there was one person who could vindicate that I was right in this situation I hoped it was her.

"I thought so too, but then whenever I hear him talk I feel like dying. He's the type of man that's beautiful when his mouth is closed but when he starts talking you wish you could-"

"Jump off a yacht." We looked at each other with pursed lips before we burst out laughing. "When did you suddenly know how to swim like that?"

"Fear sis, fear," I guffawed as I practically cried. "You should have seen the ring he got me."

"It was out of love Olly, you should have given it a chance," she sighed as I washed my face.

I first rinsed it off then dried it, "I don't want to give him false hope it would be evil of me. I tried to explain it to Papa but he just wants me to go back home."

"To Olympus?" she gaped.

I nodded, "I had a week but I may have had a mini rant which cut my days down to three days now. That's why I suggested we go out."

She shook her head causing her red braids to move with her, "Olly, I don't think this is a good idea. If you're already in trouble I don't think we should add more fuel to the fire."

"What will it change? He's already going to lock me up, I might as well enjoy the few days I have left," I grinned. "Come on Tritri! Let's paint the town red for one last time!"

She twisted her red painted lips that complimented her light milk chocolate skin, "You're going to get me into trouble."

"But isn't that our middle name? Please I'll do anything. Do this for your best friend," I pressed my hands together in a prayer motion.

She rolled her brown eyes before she softly smiled, "Fine, but just know I won't answer for you when you're in trouble."

Two hours later we both had a full face of glowing makeup that matched our outfits.

Me? I was a walking pink warning sign. I wore a hot pink fuzzy trim crop velvet tube top that barely covered anything, paired with a matching bodycon velvet skirt so tight it should've been illegal. My arms were covered in pull-on velvet sleeves with that same light pink fuzzy trim at the wrists. My curly mane was down, a wild halo of black curls that drew attention away from how short the skirt was.

On my finger, I wore the ring Papa gave me - a massive pink diamond the size of a grape. I wanted people to see what I expected. And on my feet, 5-inch satin pink Versace Medusa Aevitar platform pumps that made my 1.5m height look almost respectable.

Tricia was my perfect opposite. She wore a purple checked mini skirt with a cropped blazer, and underneath, a black lacy bodysuit. A thick diamond-encrusted silver choker sat at her throat, catching the light every time she moved. Her shoes matched mine but in light purple. She'd tied her red braids into a high ponytail that swung when she walked. Together we looked like Bratz dolls who had robbed a bank and decided to celebrate.

Tricia and I had been best friends since high school. She was two years younger than me but everyone swore she was the mature one. As a Princess, people were always trying to use me, but Tricia was the realist. She knew I didn't become the world's favorite sugar baby because I was a rebel. She knew it was all because of Campbell.

Her driver drove us to the elite club a few blocks away in a black sleek Mercedes S500. There was not a chance either of us would not drink tonight and we did not want to take any risks.

From the moment we stepped out the car, flashes went off. Multiple fans cheered to get our attention. As I was here to please the people, I took a few pictures as she did as well. Even though she always got caught up in my antics, she was highly respected in the medical field and had a large fan base of her own.

Eventually after twenty minutes we came into the club.

The bass hit us before the door even opened. Inside it was dark, all black walls and gold accents, with strobe lights cutting through the smoke like knives. The air smelled like expensive perfume, vodka, and desperation. People were packed shoulder to shoulder on the dance floor, bodies moving under pulsing blue and pink lights. A massive crystal chandelier hung over the bar, dripping light onto the crowd below. It was loud, hot, and exactly what I needed.

An usher led us through the crowd, past hands reaching out to touch me, past whispers of "That's her, that's the princess." He brought us up a set of glass stairs to the VIP area I had booked.

The VIP suite was its own world. Raised on a platform above the dance floor, with plush white leather couches arranged in a U-shape. A glass coffee table in the center was already covered in bottles of Ace of Spades and pink cocktails.

Gold trim ran along the walls, and behind the couch was a floor-to-ceiling window looking down at everyone. It was private but still on display. Exactly how I liked it. Soft pink lighting made everyone look good, and a private bar in the corner meant I never had to leave.

"Vittoria," the six girls squealed, almost deafening me as they jumped and bounced around like Chihuahuas on drugs.

"Girls," I smiled as we climbed up the stairs. We all kissed cheeks before we sat down by the platformed area that raised us higher from the dance floor and bar.

"We saw what happened on the news," Cassandra gasped as she flicked her blonde extensions over her shoulder.

"Oh what happened?" I took a sip of the pink cocktail I had ordered and looked up to her with raised eyebrows.

"You jumped off a yacht to get away from Pierre," Allison made her already big blue eyes even bigger.

I let out a small laugh and nodded, "Crazy right."

"Well it makes sense. I have a good feeling Pierre wanted to marry you because apparently his dad has a huge court case, they're suing him for millions. I'm sure they wanted your net worth," Julia gossiped as the flash of the club's lights shone on her chocolate skin.

For a moment I almost regretted inviting them. I absolutely hated them.

"Did you also see there's been an announcement that Campbell is engaged?" Tessa covered her mouth with her hands as she let out a small fake gasp, "I wasn't supposed to say that was I?"

Tricia looked at me with concerned eyes as I just smiled and numbly called over a waiter, "Can I please have two shots of tequila?"

"Olly no, don't do this," she frowned as I dismissively waved my hand and laughed.

"I'm not doing anything," I beamed but felt my heart break more and more with each passing second.
