I tucked away the formula and slowly shut my eyes, like I was hunting for something deep inside.
The next day rolled around.
The Medicine Storage opened right on schedule, and plenty of Pill masters showed up to grab their herbs. I was one of them.
The second I walked into the Medicine Storage, I bumped straight into Colin Ava.
Colin lit up and called out, "Mr. Raymond! You here for herbs too?"
I flashed him a smile. "Yeah, what about you? Anything crazy happen last night?"
Colin rubbed the back of his head. "Nah, I don't have that concentric pill recipe, so no drama for me."
"Right." I gave him a quick nod.
Then Colin suddenly piped up, "Mr. Raymond, word is you took out Wesley Thornton last night? You get that concentric pill formula?"
His voice wasn't exactly quiet, and everyone around us caught every word.
The moment those words left his mouth, every single person nearby locked their eyes on me.
Their stares burned with raw killing intent and pure greed.
