Looking at Ms. Zackary's dark expression, I frowned slightly.
"Old hag, you got here pretty quick," I said, narrowing my eyes.
Ms. Zackary let out a loud laugh. "Mason, I have to admit, your intel network is quite sharp."
I stared coldly at Ms. Zackary. "Skip the bullshit. What's got you in such a rush, you old monster?"
Ms. Zackary's eyes tightened, and she sneered. "Mason, that heavenly guardian book might buy you another month of life, but it won't keep you safe."
"I can't end you right now, but I can make you beg for death," she continued.
As she spoke, the three purple-robed figures moved forward together.
I sneered back. "Sounds like you don't trust that beast you've been raising. Worried he won't be able to handle me in a month?"
Ms. Zackary's eyes became slits, and she said icily, "Leticia will crush you like bugs! Even so, I won't let you enjoy this next month!"
With those words, one of the purple-robed figures suddenly struck, lunging straight at me!
