Mrs. Schultz gazed around with confusion, her expression revealing she hadn't fully grasped her situation yet.
"Mom, you're awake!" Connor exclaimed, his face streaming with tears of joy as he broke down sobbing at the sight of his conscious mother.
Jack rushed over and wrapped his arms around his wife.
"Honey, you're awake, that's wonderful, that's incredible..." The middle-aged man wept openly like a teenager, completely overcome with emotion.
Mrs. Schultz rubbed her forehead gently. After attempting to move her limbs, she gasped in surprise, "I...I don't seem to be in pain anymore..."
"Really?!" Jack quickly wiped away his tears and said, "Honey, let me help you get out of bed!"
"No need." Mrs. Schultz raised her hand to stop him.
She climbed out of bed independently.
Perhaps due to her extended period of immobility, her steps appeared somewhat labored and heavy.
The father and son stayed close behind her, anxiously watching her every move in case she stumbled.
