The other mana intoxication that the unique mage had come across was of a girl who had somehow managed to convert her own arms into her wand. The seem to function both as arms and as swords to some degree. The manner in which she attacked with them was not with a fist or an open palm, but instead her hand was positioned like a blade. One that was finely tuned and practiced as well for someone of her age, that just seemingly recently discovered this was what she had been pouring her mana into, and that she had thus made it her wand. The possibility suggests that she treated her own arms as blades, implying that she took the notion of the weapon being an extension of the user to the most logical extreme. What could possibly come after treating your weapon like an extension of yourself, than for that to become true both literally and figuratively after all. That is obviously where her case of mana intoxication came from, as she had been using and storing mana within herself so long that it eventually caused it to happen. That her skin became heavily tanned, and that, unlike the first case, they had discovered that with her, only half of her hair became white.
Through watching the girl practice every day at the crack of day without missing a day, and would go the entire morning if not stopped by them. The mage could not help but wonder if this was part of her everyday routine, and she was possibly making up for lost time, as she was found just lounging around outside by them after all.
The unique mage guessed that her stamina was low because she was not using her own internal mana, as the girl seemed incapable of truly using ki at all. What she was doing was instead replicating what ki users could do fully through converting mana into something that would mimic the effects of ki without being it or even truly magic at all. I wonder if this is how she was able to become this skilled at using a blade without realizing the truth about herself until it was too late. The mage came across this girl while searching for a mage that went missing after agreeing to do something under the table for some well known family. They never got too close to the place where they vanished, just the general area in which they did so. Thus, how they managed to hear stories about this girl from the locals after all.
What the mage thought was that the girl was not depending solely on her capacity as a mage to store up and then use external mana over time. While mages can not use their own internal mana for magic, what they can do is store a certain amount within themselves so that they can use that instead in a pinch or when they need to use magic immediately. The capacity of a mage, unlike a ki user, was capped at birth since they were not using their own internal mana at all. They were using external mana that had been gathered either beforehand or during the time of need. That was a mage's mana capacity; most people have what is considered a mana core. The capacity of one's mana core is not capped at birth; however, the process for increasing the capacity of one's mana core is not uniform and can fail. The result is anything from loss of the mana core itself to death from mana intoxication so bad that it can be considered lethal.
It was though the girl altered her own capacity to store external mana at a young age from repeated attempts to store more and more external mana within herself, unaware that what she was doing the entire time. Expanding her mana capacity for just how much external mana she can gather within her body for the sole purpose of replicating everything a ki user can do. The weakness of a ki user is their inability to tell apart anything that is not magic from ki. Thus, while to any mage it was obvious what she was doing and that she was a mage who was doing what she could to replicate the feats of ki her own way.
What interested the unique mage was that this girl had grown to the point where her mana core had become similar to the mythic dragons in nature. Granting her mana capacity that transcends what can be achieved by any mage that they have ever met.
She had, however, developed what would later be dubbed a mana reactor by the unique mage. She could take produce mana seemingly at will after having absorbed enough external mana to do so. Whenever she actually manages to exhaust her own vast mana supply, her reactor would start taking in external mana to replenish itself. A mana reactor was fundamentally different from the mana cores of everyone else as a result of this. The girl's mana reactor would generate mana independently from her body simply through breathing like a dragon. Thus, it would become known as dragonic in nature, as gathering mana was second nature to dragons after all. Though dragons were seen as mythical beings that no one had solid proof existed at all, even at some point in the past. The unique mage believes they did in some form, as to them, everything considered a mere fairy tale or myth had a truth lying at the core of it. All one had to do was go about finding out what that truth was exactly, as that could lead to the origins that explain where both and/or either could have come from in the first place. For a fairy tale or myth to exist in the first place, it first has to be based on something that actually happened or existed, as it is unlikely that it was purely fictional down to the very core itself
