The way epilogue worked was quite simple. It brought everything to an end. A simple, straight forward and extremely powerful ability. But because of the inexperienced of the user, it had some massive flaws that the top leaders were able to exploit.
For this ability to be successful, the user needed construct a perfect story without any plot holes and such. So the user also needed to know about what was happening.
The broken "story" ability user did not have any proper skills for appraisal, investigation and such. But using the function of the "main story", it was actually possible to indirectly appraise something or someone by implanting information about the target directly in the mind.
But even then, understanding those newly gained information was not easy at all and was quite time consuming. Then one would also need to thinking of a properly flowing story to end the target.
