Hearing what Caleb Summers said, Anne Sutton gave him a look, finding it odd. "Hasn't he been here the whole time?"
"I thought after things got so bad between you and Ethan, he would've taken the child away."
But as it turned out, Nathan Fawcett had let Anne Sutton stay with their child the whole time, showing no intention of taking him away.
Caleb Summers's words reminded Anne Sutton. 'That's right! In the past, Nathan Fawcett would have taken the child away no matter what. He wouldn't have gone easy on me at all.' "I find it strange, too."
She had been worried sick these past few days that Nathan Fawcett would take the child away.
But it was quite surprising that he'd rather take his anger out on the Shields family than on her.
Anne Sutton looked at Caleb Summers and asked, "You're already off work? Hasn't he come home yet?"
"He has a work dinner tonight, so he'll be back late. I just came by to pick something up."
Anne Sutton said, "Okay."
