After he left, Charles Prescott looked at Anne Sutton and said, "Do you really want me to give him a promotion? Or is there something else you mean by this?"
"What other meaning could there be?" Anne Sutton asked.
'This man has a surprisingly suspicious mind!'
Charles Prescott said, "Don't you dislike him? I thought you were just saying that to be polite and couldn't bring yourself to refuse. I can just drag out the process for him."
"No need," Anne Sutton said. "Given his abilities, what kind of job can we arrange for him? Preferably one where he can truly shine."
Hearing Anne's words, Charles Prescott's lips twitched. "What do you mean?"
"Aren't his academic qualifications decent enough?"
"Who in our company doesn't have a good degree? He might have been fine in school, but that's as far as it goes. There are plenty of people better than him, and his university wasn't exactly top-tier."
