Chapter 4 - The Beginning of An Agreement

"Okay, kids, you've got it right? Alright, now that it's noon, it's time for you all to have lunch. See you all later. Bye~" For the umpteenth time, I took care of and entertained the children in this daycare center. I don't mind at all. Besides, for some reason I felt much happier and more energized than usual these few days, making me even happier to do this.

"Yeeeeeeay!!!"

*Tring!

The message notification sound from my phone suddenly sounded, along with the sound of children cheering.

"Who's sent me a message at this hour? Is it that damn YNF 861 again?" But unfortunately, no. It was even worse.

A message that certainly managed to ruin what should have been a great day.

My eyes widened as soon as I read the message. My heart was racing, and my hands started shaking. "What the hell is this? No! No! How could you do this? And all this effort- was it all in vain? No! I won't let that happen!"

**************************************************

1 hour later, as usual, I sat by the bed, the place where my brother lay in a coma.

Usually, I would look at him in tears, but today was different.

I felt like I wanted to kill myself today.

My mind felt empty. The hope I had held tight for so long had already floated and shattered. The words spoken by the doctor some time ago were still ringing in my head.

"I'm sorry for saying this, but you have accepted your brother leaving this world, right? We tried our best, but his body was getting worse. It's been 3 years, and his body has not responded at all, so now most of his organs have been damaged. There is no point in waiting for a miracle. Even if he managed to wake up, his body would no longer be able to survive," is all he said.

"What? What do you mean? All this effort is useless? ALL THE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IN HIS BODY IS USELESS???!?!" I can't hold my voice.

The doctor looked at me with a sigh. "It's been 3 years, and you must have let him go now, right? All that medical equipment only helps to meet the needs of intake and oxygen, but it is useless if the body does not respond at all. His body is getting worse and worse. No matter how much we try, it won't be able to survive anymore. You've known this since the beginning, right? We've helped you to make it last for 3 years, and it has nothing but added to the pain. That's enough. It's time for him to leave us."

I clenched my hands, and my whole body felt like shit. So I must... No! No way! I still can't let him go. But what can I do? What can I do to save him?

What can I do if I lose him forever?

Tring!

I heard a notification sound from my bag.

I decided to ignore it.

Tring!

Tring!

Tring!

Tring!

The f*ck? Who keeps sending messages? The sound of the notifications kept coming non-stop as if urging me to look at it. Hearing the same sound continuously made my head hurt even more and seemed to want to explode.

Quickly, I opened the bag and took my smartphone to curse whoever that impudent person is, and the wrinkles on my face increased when I saw that the culprit turned out to be a person I already knew.

YNF 861

[Hey! How are you?]

[We have something important to talk about.]

[It is related to my promise the first time we talked before.]

[Hoy! Answer me quickly!]

[Ping!]

[Ping!]

[Ping!]

[Ping!]

This son of a b*tch! My heart is in turmoil right now, and it's going to help me break it to pieces? I immediately typed an answer for this shit.

[Please just leave me alone!]

They replied just a second after that.

[Oh...Come, you've been playing my game well this week. That was fun, right?]

[I was traumatized when you cursed me that night, but after that, you did my advice so that you could play that game. And look at it now, you're addicted to playing it, right?]

[I'm not in the mood to talk about it. I have no zest for life now.]

I put my phone in my bag and closed my eyes. Yeah, ever since that embarrassing streaming incident a week ago, I immediately turned off the camera and sent a message to YNF 861, only to curse it for 2 whole hours. They replied to me the next morning. Well, I didn't expect them to reply to my messages anyway.

YNF 861 sent dozens of apologies and told me how and what I need to download so I can play that game. I'd want to ignore it, but somehow there was an impulse in me to follow it. From the first time I saw the game, my heart was very interested. It feels like the atmosphere in the game is very soothing and familiar.

When it worked and I was able to play the game, there was a feeling of peace and calm in my heart. A feeling I haven't felt since the accident 3 years ago. It feels very fun to go on an adventure by using the character of 'The Crown Prince', kill monsters, interact with the other characters, and increase the level. I also enjoyed reading the background stories of the characters and NPCs in the information book.

Since then, I've been streaming and playing that game since I got home from the hospital until well past midnight. Even though my viewers are reduced, I don't pay attention to it because I have become obsessed with this game.

I played that game every night until the doctor told me the bad news a few hours ago.

Tring!

Triing!

Triing!

Triing!

Oh shit, I forgot to turn off my smartphone. The sound of the notification appeared many times again, hurting my ears. I grabbed my phone and opened it to justify my guess if the culprit is still the same person.

YNF 861

[Hey, please don't be like that. This is very important!]

[You've been playing my game well this week, and it's time I kept my promise.]

[I have a gift for you.]

[I don't want it.]

[Oh yeah? What if I told you this gift could heal your family?]

My eyes opened wide after reading it. Wait, what? Seriously? This person also knew about my brother?

[What do you mean?]

[You would do anything to be able to cure your brother, right?]

[How do you know?]

[It doesn't matter. More importantly, I have a potion that can make your brother wake up and be healthy again.]

What? Is this the miracle I've been waiting for?
