His last few days have been busy. Ethan had been doing quite a few things since coming back from his trip. He had already acquired a cripled Hawk for the Symbiote known as Patriot. The Hawk was missing an entire wing. While Felicia had found a gray tabby cat at a shelter, it was about to be put down because it was slowly dying of a cancer that had caused its legs and tail to be cut off.
After they had brought them to the hidden lab they had set up containers and let Patriot and Voracious combine with their new hosts. He had already developed a high frequency weapon that would allow them to disorient the symbiotes and a literal freezing weapon that would put them in a state of sleep.
Fortunately he did not have to use these weapons as both of them began getting used to the environments they set up. They left them contained inside of cages with an array of foods to try. As well as controls to put them in a cooler state so they need less food. They would know tomorrow what exactly they would need to eat if Ethan calculated it correctly.
He also found a shipment of illegal vibranium that was on its way into the United States. The shipment's final destination was going to be a Shield research facility. But Ethan planned to steal it before it arrived there. In order to do so he would need some manpower and time. Especially since it had yet to even arrive in the United States. It would take at least a month before it arrived stateside. By then he needed a shielded containment unit in which he could keep the stolen shipment.
So he had started plans on building it at the new facility he was building. He already had a design that would shield the vibranium from being detected. He just had to build it. Then he would have an abundance of Vibranium that if he was reading it correctly was stolen from Wakanda.
Fortunately he already had some of his people from the south being brought up. They would be here in a week and then he would really be able to get things started with all of his plans.
But for now he had to finish his 'internship' at the Baxter Building. It was becoming more and more annoying to have to go over all of the stupid things that Reed had been putting his fingers inside of. He was starting to see and understand Victor's view on the man calling himself, Mister Fantastic.
Ethan had barely any time to work on any of his own projects. He had long finished the 'prototype' invisibility device. Which was several generations behind anything he had made at home. Now he was supposed to be working on a few new pieces of equipment that could revolutionize science.
But instead of working on that, he was forced to go over not just Reed's lab reports. But also do all of the work that Reed was supposed to be doing. Which is how he found himself in his current situation. Sitting across from Susan with bags under her eyes.
Ethan took a moment to stretch as he checked her out. "You should really take a break."
"I can't. The few days you left the work stacked up. My only saving grace during this time has been Ben and you. Johnny is a nightmare to keep pinned down since he is constantly running around, I have a literal stack of complaints from the city since he started 'helping' them." She sighed after she did air quotes around the word 'helping', it seems she was as done with him as the city was.
"Ben has his own problems, but at the very least it is beyond his own control. He has been very apologetic but I am still getting requests and orders from the government. They want him for things that I can honestly say are bold faced lies. The only one that might be honest is General Ross asking to use him against the Hulk." She then pointed at another stack of papers, "That is that stack."
She then waved at the current grouping of papers on her desk. "Then these are all of the things our interns have been requesting. Which reminds me, do you need a recommendation for where you wish to be employed?"
Ethan shook his head, "that is unnecessary. I have plans to start up my own research facility after I leave this internship." Susan looks at him with a raised eyebrow so he took a moment to explain, "this internship was only ever a favor to the Dean. Honestly the only reason I have stayed for so long has been you."
Susan chuckled and got back to her work. "Can I come work for you when you are all set up?"
Ethan thought for a moment as he realized she was making a joke. But he turned it around and made a serious offer. "Certainly, you would be able to do all of the research you want. Hell, I could give you your own private lab."
Susan looked up from what she was doing, "how would you have the material wealth to back that up?"
Ethan shrugged, "I am basically swimming in money. I am already about to break ground on my new facility. Then in a few weeks the lower levels will be up and running." Ethan waved away her stare of disbelief. "I know you meant it as a joke. But honestly I would gladly have someone like you come work for me."
Susan blinked and seemed to think for a few minutes. "I will think about it." She then leaned back, "but as annoying as Reed has been he is still my fiance so do not be disappointed if I refuse."
Ethan nodded, "okay." He then began standing up. "I have a need for the restroom. I will be back in a minute."
"A few minutes actually, the only bathroom still working is on the other side of the building." Susan looked at him with an exasperated expression. "Which reminds me that I need to get a new janitor. The last one quit."
Ethan grunted, "the danger pay probably was not enough." He then walked out of Susan's office and began making his way to the last remaining bathroom on this floor.
As he walked he passed by a lounge where Johnny, Ben, and a few other interns were watching a football game on the television. "Want to join us Ethan?" Ben asked with a grunt while pointing at a capped beer bottle.
"Pass," Ethan answered and continued. He soon arrived at the main room where the front desk secretary was calming down a few officials, who appeared to be from corporations or from the government. Seems they were getting annoyed with Reed's delay in results.
He then passed by the empty kitchen and a few rooms. All of which were empty, if he recalls Cindy Moon was actually out today. Something about her working out with a new friend who was close in age to her.
But he stopped in his tracks as he passed by Alyssa Moy's personnel lab. It was not because of something he saw. It was because of something he was hearing. Moaning and the distinct sound of pleasure.
Ethan moved to the door and quietly looked through the cracked door. He pulled out his phone as he found the source. Alyssa Moy was bent over a desk with Reed Richard thrusting into her from behind. It was definitely him since his arm was stretched across the desk. Ethan began recording a video of it as he quietly observed.
This was definitely an interesting development. But he would wait until later before reporting it. Because this would definitely break up Susan and Reed, he would ask for Felicia's help with this.
