The next day, Tener was visited by the 'Post Alert Boy', to alert him that he received a letter from a certain city.[1]
The alert kid had to stay outside the unit, though, waiting for the person to actually answer the door.
Unfortunately, Tener's guard shift was at night so he literally just got to bed. He knocked on the door every ten seconds, and he also pulled the string for the bell (most units didn't have electronic doorbells yet).

"Wake up," a voice from the side commanded, irking the half-asleep Tener very much.
"Urghhhhh—"
Annoyed, he lifted his head and glared at Dejel, who was laughing at him, amusedly. "What are you doing in my unit?" he asked. The two of them had access to each other's units, but this was too annoying!
