Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Spaceship Jolts! I Kabedon an Angel!

Thinking it over, Rez felt that it actually made sense.

After all, this spaceship wasn't very large; it was only slightly bigger than a single-person spherical pod.

Its primary function was the rapid transport of combat personnel, so it naturally wouldn't be equipped with any luxury cabins.

"I... I don't need to sleep at night... You can just sleep yourself," Linoshi said to Rez in a low, hushed voice, her face flushing red.

She kept her head down, her gaze falling on the tips of her toes, while her fingers began to fidget with the hem of her battle suit again.

"How can that be? How will you recover your strength without sleep?" Rez smiled gently. "It's fine. You sleep first, and when you wake up, I'll take my turn."

"Then... alright then." Linoshi felt that if she continued to argue, Rez might start to suspect her identity, so she simply nodded in agreement.

She still didn't dare to look up, feeling her heart pounding violently, like a small deer thrashing about inside her chest.

Whoosh—

At that moment, the spaceship suddenly took off, and a violent surge of g-force hit them instantly.

Rez lost his balance and his body lunged forward, pouncing right onto Linoshi and pinning her against the wall in a 'Kabedon' position.

His hands were braced against the cabin wall on either side of Linoshi's head, his entire body almost enveloping her in his embrace.

The distance between them was so close they could count each other's eyelashes.

Linoshi: "..."

Her eyes widened instantly, her blue pupils filled with shock and helplessness.

Her already flushed face turned even redder, so red it looked as if it might bleed.

Her breathing became rapid, her chest heaving slightly, and her warm breath brushed softly against Rez's face.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to," Rez said hurriedly, yet he found himself somewhat reluctant to pull away immediately.

That elegant fragrance flooded his nose again—not perfume, not powder, but a natural and comforting scent.

"It's... it's okay, I know," Linoshi nodded slightly, her voice so soft it was barely audible.

She could feel his body heat, the pressure of his palms against the wall, and his gaze resting on her face.

The sensation made her heart flutter in confusion, yet for some reason, she didn't want him to leave.

Rez took a deep breath, finally regaining his senses, and slowly straightened up.

Linoshi, her face crimson, quickly broke free and sat down on the small bed to the side, lowering her head once more in silence.

She sat on the edge of the bed with her hands on her knees, her body trembling slightly.

Whoosh—

In just a few blinks of an eye, the spaceship had entered the vast starry sky.

Through the small porthole in the room, the view outside had changed from a blue sky to a deep, profound black.

Countless stars were dotted throughout, dazzling and brilliant.

After the ship entered space, Rez immediately spotted a massive spaceship hovering near the star system where Planet Vegeta was located.

That ship was incredibly huge, purplish-red all over with a peculiar design, like a giant beast coiled in the starry sky.

Several small ships were patrolling around it, with occasional flashes of light.

It was Frieza's spaceship.

"That's Frieza's spaceship!" Rez's heart tightened slightly, his expression turning grave.

He stood before the porthole, his eyes fixed on the giant vessel as the ki within his body surged slightly.

Because they were in the vacuum of space.

The Saiyans' greatest weakness was their inability to survive in the vacuum of space.

If Frieza were to suddenly attack this ship now...

Aside from Linoshi, the entire team would likely be wiped out in an instant.

"It really is Frieza!" Linoshi nodded softly. She had walked up to Rez's side at some point and was also looking out the porthole. "With his ship here, he clearly has no good intentions."

Rez didn't say much. He took a deep breath and resumed his vigilant watch toward Frieza's spaceship.

Although Saiyans couldn't survive in the vacuum of space indefinitely...

Rez could still manage to survive for a short period.

He had already verified this when he was six years old.

As long as he applied an Energy Shield, surviving in space for a few days wouldn't be much of a problem, provided the shield remained intact.

But to survive long-term, one would need either inexhaustible energy or a large supply of Senzu Beans.

The reason Rez was watching Frieza's ship so warily was also out of concern that he might launch a sudden sneak attack.

According to the original plot, Frieza was supposed to let Vegeta's combat squad go.

However, would my presence cause a butterfly effect?

It was possible that Frieza might change his mind because of it.

Therefore, Rez didn't dare to be careless.

The moment Frieza launched a sneak attack, Rez would definitely act quickly to block the opponent's energy.

Whoosh—

The spaceship accelerated, carving a trajectory through the vast starry sky as it flew toward a distant star system.

The starlight outside gradually stretched into lines, and Planet Vegeta grew smaller and smaller, eventually becoming an inconspicuous speck of light that merged into the sea of stars.

...

Frieza's spaceship.

The main control room was brightly lit, with various instruments flashing with eerie blue lights.

Large screens on the walls displayed real-time images of the surrounding star systems, and soldiers were busy at several consoles.

Frieza sat in a hover pod that resembled a baby carriage, suspended in mid-air.

He was short in stature, yet he radiated a suffocating sense of pressure.

His white skin gleamed coldly under the lights, his slender body was encased in purple chest and shoulder armor, and a long tail swayed gently behind him.

An evil smile played on his face, and his eyes were cold and cruel.

"Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God, is it?" Frieza mused, his voice sharp and piercing.

"Lord Frieza, I believe those are merely cliché heroic legends," Berryblue, standing to the side, said with a smile, her tone carrying a hint of sycophancy.

She was short and stout, wearing a proper uniform with a flattering smile on her face.

"I know that, of course," Frieza said flatly, his eyes narrowing slightly. "However, I cannot tolerate even a sliver of unease! Regardless, the Saiyans are a group of extremely prideful fellows; they will never truly become my loyal servants! It is time for them to be destroyed along with their planet!"

"It really is a pity, though. Saiyans are excellent combatants after all!" Berryblue gave a soft sigh, a trace of regret in her expression as she shook her head.

"Hmph!" Frieza snorted coldly, his purple lips curling into a cruel arc. He asked again, "By the way, how many Saiyans have returned to Planet Vegeta?"

"In another month, almost all the Saiyans will have returned," Berryblue replied, glancing at the data pad in her hand. "Currently, only a very small number of Saiyans require more time to return."

"I can't wait any longer. Let's set it for one month from now," a brilliant smile appeared on Frieza's face, a smile that sent shivers down one's spine.
