Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Enlightenment! The State of No-Mind!

"Yeah, yeah." Linoshi nodded in deep agreement, her blue eyes gazing into the distance with a look of profound emotion.

Sunlight spilled over the two of them, casting long shadows among the jagged rocks.

"How long do you think... it will take me to master the Ultra Instinct you mentioned?" Rez suddenly asked, withdrawing his gaze to look at her.

"Ah? That... oh dear... it's hard to say," Linoshi murmured, her fingers unconsciously rubbing her combat suit again.

Rez felt like she was rubbing the color right off the armor.

"Do I need to try it to find out?" Rez asked again.

"Yes..." Linoshi nodded slightly.

"Let's try it now," Rez urged impatiently, his eyes shining.

"To master Ultra Instinct, the first thing you must do is discard stray thoughts and emotions, entering a State of No-Mind," Linoshi said seriously, her blue eyes sparkling with focus. "Just this one point is difficult for many to achieve."

"I'll try," Rez took a deep breath.

He closed his eyes, feet shoulder-width apart, hands hanging naturally at his sides, letting his whole body relax.

Then, Rez worked hard to cast away distracting thoughts, trying not to think about anything.

Not thinking about Frieza, not thinking about Cooler, not thinking about the impending destruction of Planet Vegeta, and not thinking about the life-and-death struggle a month away.

Think about nothing.

Just standing there quietly.

Time passed minute by minute.

The gale winds howled past his ears, and the occasional sound of rolling gravel echoed from afar, sounding exceptionally clear in the silent wasteland.

About 10 minutes later.

Rez was suddenly surprised to feel as if he had merged with his surroundings.

He could intimately feel the wind around him, the sensation of it brushing against his skin, the hardness and temperature of the rocks beneath his feet, and the warmth of the sunlight on his body.

Everything was so clear, yet so natural.

"Oh my... Rez, you're truly amazing!" Linoshi said excitedly, her blue eyes bright. "I never expected you to reach the State of No-Mind so quickly."

Rez slowly opened his eyes and looked silently at Linoshi.

His gaze was as calm as water, yet as deep as an abyss.

"Wonderful, wonderful!" Linoshi clapped and cheered excitedly, her face brimming with genuine joy, even unable to resist a little hop in place.

"So, based on my current progress, about how long will it take to master Ultra Instinct?" Rez asked, withdrawing from that mystical state.

"Hard to say, I can only give an estimate," Linoshi mused, tilting her head as she thought. "It might take at least a month just to barely reach the entry level."

"A month... just to barely reach entry level?" Rez fell into deep thought.

Now he was also curious what the entry level of Ultra InstinctLinoshi spoke of would actually be like.

It should surely surpass a regular Super Saiyan, right?

After all, this was a technique of the gods!

Rez thought it over carefully and decided to temporarily give up on training for the regular Super Saiyan form.

Because even if given a month, it would be difficult for his base battle power to reach 10 million.

At best, if Rez could raise his battle power to 5 million within a month, it would already be extraordinary.

Might as well train in Ultra Instinct!

Perhaps there would be better gains!

Besides, from what Vegeta said, that kid was heading to an alien planet to fight.

As long as he left Planet Vegeta with him, perhaps Frieza wouldn't target him.

"Keep it up! You can do it!" Linoshi nodded vigorously, her blue eyes full of encouragement.

"Alright, then I'll be in your care for this period," Rez gave Linoshi a polite bow.

Since this girl was teaching him Ultra Instinct, he had to be serious when the situation called for it.

"I'll practice some more!" Rez said, taking another deep breath and re-entering the State of No-Mind.

He closed his eyes, emptied his mind again, and merged with the surroundings.

Linoshi watched silently from the side, without saying a word.

Her gaze fell upon Rez, looking at his well-defined profile, his slightly heaving chest, and the beads of sweat on his face that hadn't dried yet, shimmering in the sunlight.

Especially seeing Rez's calm and focused expression when he entered the State of No-Mind, Linoshi's face flushed once more.

She bit her lower lip, staring at him without blinking, as if trying to carve his image into her heart.

Time ticked away.

The sun slowly dipped toward the west, the light changing from golden to orange-red, and then from orange-red to dark purple.

The scattered rocks on Star-Shattering Cliff were dyed with a warm color, like gilded sculptures.

Not knowing how much time had passed, when Rez opened his eyes, he was shocked to find the sun had already set.

Only a sliver of dark red afterglow remained on the horizon, being swallowed bit by bit by the night.

Stars began to appear in the deep blue sky, one, two, then more and more.

Rez looked stunned, staring at the dim sky in surprise, unable to snap out of it for a moment.

He felt as if only a short while had passed, never expecting it to be dusk already.

Then, Rez immediately turned his head toward Linoshi.

To his surprise, Linoshi was still standing in her original position, gazing blankly at him without moving an inch.

She seemed to have become a rock herself, standing there quietly, with only the strands of hair swaying in the night breeze proving she was still alive.

Seeing Rez open his eyes and look at her, Linoshi suddenly snapped out of it, her face flushing again, even her neck turning a shade of pink.

"Are... are you finished training?" Linoshi asked shyly, her voice as small as a mosquito's hum.

"How long was I training?" Rez asked, stretching his somewhat stiff shoulders.

"It's been over eight hours," Linoshi replied, then added, "You're in a very good state. At this rate, I think you'll be able to reach the entry level of Ultra Instinct in less than a month."

"Really? That's great!" Rez took a deep breath, his heart growing increasingly excited and full of anticipation.

He was truly looking forward to the Ultra Instinct after reaching entry level.

"Are you hungry?" Rez suddenly asked, his gaze falling on Linoshi.

"Me? I... I'm not hungry." Linoshi was startled for a moment, then shook her head gently, her blue eyes flickering.

Rez then realized.

Angels don't get hungry!
