The violent wolf began to move swiftly, thus disappearing from its position. A very abnormal speed for a low-ranked beast. Three successive blue-coloured light arrows struck the wolf, but it didn't budge. Its target is Girvacks! It makes sense, considering Girvack's fleshy body, as a predator, who will not rush into it?
Girvacks draws his axe and is about to smash the ground, for he can't keep up with the wolf's speed, but he is sent flying before he can even move his arms. Fortunately for his armour, the claw of the wolf didn't cut him in half. Though the armour has been cut off completely,
I look towards the armour as it falls to the ground while Girvacks is being sent flying somewhere to the town. I hope for a safe landing for him.
Is a low-ranked wolf capable of doing these things? Obviously not! Something wrong is happening.
Vara runs in the direction where Girvacks has flown. Just as I said, if we don't meet with these two, their training will end up being their death.
I look at the wolf as I continue.
Who would've thought that there is exactly a dangerous monster that is already roving around here? Girvacks might have thought that he had chosen a safe place to train his child. A safe place to train his young daughter.
The wolf releases a deafening growl, and it even shakes the ground.
Tsk, safe place your idiocy. Since when did even this world give you the thought of having a safe place?
Your idiotic safe place will kill you and leave you fully ashamed of yourself while you think about your lame plans. Your idiotic, lame plans will be slapped in your face by this monster that used to be a traveller's favourite dish.
I then looked at Sei and said,
"Say, why don't we let those two meet their fate?"
Vara is running to look for her father.
Sei reacts, slightly annoyed.
"Huh?"
Pfft... It makes me laugh to see her reaction.
"Of course not, right?!! Ahahahahaha"
Sei, then just let out a breath.
"sigh"
Well, if it's only me, I might love to see their reaction as they get threatened by this wolf.
I hold my head as I continue.
Why are there people who do such things? If they train their child to become a great fighter as they grow, then when will their child experience their childhood days? It's just like they already killed their own child, because living as an adult will never be the same as that of a child. It is okay to die as a child; at least you've experienced the bliss of being born.
Well, at least for me, it's okay.
While my mind is filled with these thoughts, I see a target (a mark to shoot at) pop up on the wolf's shoulders.
"Whoah, a target lock system?"
I uttered, as I've been amazed by the technology.
Then successive shots were fired at the targeted area.
Tsiw... tsiw... tsiw...
Is what you can hear as the consecutive blue lights of arrows pass above me.
"Whoah! Nice resolve!"
I can see the limb of the wolf being somehow damaged by the attack.
Of course, if one strike has no effect, then make it effective by sending consecutive strikes at it.
I and Sei then ran to follow Vara, who was rushing to find out his father's whereabouts.
The wolf paid attention to the direction of the striker.
While running lazily, I called out to Vara in a weary voice.
"Hey, little sweetie! You might encounter another beast in the way; don't rush in your own.
After all, it's getting dark.
Who knows if there are many beasts lurking around in this town?
While at it, the wolf flew with enormous speed to the striker, jumping forcefully.
"Bad! You're dead!"
I damned, as I acted to jump for the boy's aid.
While I'm at it, a gigantic wolf appears behind me.
I mean, it is really big! About 20 metres high and 50 metres long.
I leave the idea to jump up for this one is needed to be taken care of.
"Sei!"
I called out to Sei and signalled her to save the boy.
She then flew away to decapitate the beast.
The very moment she leaves, a little wolf that has been hiding in the dark (for it is already 6:00 p.m.) rushes towards Vara.
At the same time, I glanced at Girvacks running towards us but being interrupted by wolves.
Sei could only turn her eyes towards Vara when she noticed a wolf is about to harm the child. Sei can't do anything because she is in mid-air. Moreover, she still needs to rescue the boy from the other wolf.
I can't believe that the wolf (the one that is rushing to Vara) can be that fast. I acted to save Vara. A wolf this small can be taken out by a single flick of a finger. Only by me, though.
I quickly dashed off in their direction (to Vara and the wolf). While the surroundings were slowing down, (because my physical dash is pretty fast) the crumbled stones and different man-sized objects began to be raised upward. It's as if they are being drawn to the sky.
Once again, I stop and look around to see what happened. The slow-motion of the surroundings should be at an equal pace. But when I saw this objects that are moving upward, I noticed that it was somehow faster than the surroundings that is in slow motion. This means a quick movement has caused these things to move faster!
It interrupted my move to save Vara, because i was alarmed that someone moved faster than my dash. I need to check this out.
When I realised what was happening, I immediately strengthened my fist.
The giant wolf behind me has its gigantic foot raised upward and is rushing onto me to crush me.
This means that the changes in the object's motion are caused by this wolf's gigantic foot's raising motion. Yeah! The surroundings have been carried upward by the force of only raising this wolf its large paws!
Vara is now in the range of the little wolf, and the only thing it needs to do is close its fangs to Vara's small body.
Girvacks shouted
"Vara!!!"
I also still have to interrupt this giant wolf's smash; otherwise, this whole village will be sent to its death!
Someone then suddenly countered the little wolf. It is a girl about as old as Sei. She is stabbing a knife into the wolf's neck while struggling to stop the harsh lunge of the ferocious beast.
The mouth of the wolf is wide open, so its glittering teeth are the only things you can see on its head.
The wolf's fangs are long and sharp. The sharpness of its claws can even open the hard, solid ground. Its strength, which supports every fling of its muscled arms, can even give it the authority to cut down wide, finely concreted buildings!
Now, this girl is holding the wolf's head by her left hand and is struggling as she is pushing it to the left. She is parrying these arms that carry building-cutter claws with her right arm. The hand of Her right arm is holding the knife; thus, it is occupied with stabbing the wolf's neck with all her might, while the forearm is the one that is parrying the wolf's two deadly forearms. Yeah, her right arm is doing the job; after all, if her left arm let go of the head, things could go worse.
The girl sure is struggling!
At least it delayed the wolf.
Now, as this gigantic wolf attempts to crush the ground, I give it a piece of my mind.
I then give a punch to the air (because the wolf's foot has yet to reach my arm's range). When my fist made contact with the air, the air then raged against the wolf. An enormous amount of air that travels at enormous speed has hit the wolf's chest, thus causing the wolf to explode and disperse into thin air.
Yeah, it's as simple as that.
I then turn my attention to the struggling girl as I pick up a small stone. About a button-sized stone.
I then flick it at the little wolf that is giving the girl a problem.
As simple as that, the little wolf also disappeared.
Girvacks just got done with the small wolves that were ganging up on him.
Girvacks then runs to his daughter, which the daughter also does.
Good grief, humans really need protection. Because their own caring emotions can really move you up.
This father and daughter are now embracing each other and crying noisily. Well, if I and Sei were not here, this could be their death.
"Your tears of joy are really worth it."
I muttered as I sighed, seeing how pitiful they were.
Now, I turn my eye to this girl who is panting.
The girl that saved Vara
She is looking at me, filled with wonder.
Hmm, this could not be the first time she sees a person this strong, right? Well, if she didn't see one, she could at least hear about it, right?
So what is she getting all curious about?
Failing to figure the situation out, I just ask subconsciously.
"What are you looking at?"
The girl averted her gaze.
Huh? Why did she... After thinking things through, I realised that I had asked my question in a way that was pretty offensive.
"Ah no! I mean, is something wrong?"
The girl then asks
"Why did you people show up now?"
Huh? What is her problem? We are just passing travellers here, aren't we? It's not like we are licenced saviours or such.
Did they have a citizen-government quarrel going on here?
She probably penetrates what I have been thinking; thus, she says,
"The government was already done in."
"Huh?"
I was filled with wonder.
The girl stares at me as she continues.
"This kingdom is now free from law; we, the citizens, had just been waiting for help. Help from the so-called leading nations of the world. You are from that kingdom, aren't you?
Kingdom of Frisha? "
"Aah, yeah"
I react slowly because I am filled with wonder.
The girl chuckles with her weary eyes partially closed as she says
"We have been waiting patiently.
We've been waiting for the world government...for the world government's response. So you people actually decided to come."
The girl is pretty worn out.
"Hahaha"
With a slow, weary laugh, she said
"After all, you were just our neighbouring kingdom...
Ha... Haha... Hahaha... "
I keep my gaze on her.
Hmm... What's with her?
Is she angry? Is she pleased?
I can't understand what she is talking about.
Hmm... Well...
This girl sure is pretty interesting.
