Immediately, Carlisle ordered Edward to put Bella on the operating bed. He injected morphine into her and removed a healthy baby boy. Rosalie came in prepared with a towel and held the newborn whilst Edward injected his venom into Bella's heart. The transition had begun but for Edward waiting for Bella to wake up from her slumber was excruciating.

When she eventually woke up, they helped her learn to control her new abilities so that Charlie could see Bella. After Charlie left, Bella wanted to hold her new baby, EJ which means EdwardJacob, but Jake would only allow 10 minutes. Bella looked at Jake suspiciously leaving him no choice but to tell her that he had imprinted on her son. Bella was furious, she quickly passed EJ to Rosalie and then dragged Jake by the ear. He thought she was going to rip it off as she threw him out the door. Seth and Leah tried to intervene but Bella, not knowing her strength, threw them against the trees. Regret immediately filled her as she watched them struggle to get back up. However, her expression changed when she noticed Jake getting back up on his feet. He ordered Seth and Leah to stay away.
"You should take your own advice Jake. Stay away from us. He is only a baby and he's a boy. What sicko does this?" Bella yelled.
"Bella you know I can't do that and you know we can't help who we imprint on or when it happens. You think I understand any of this. All those years, I've wanted you but you never wanted me back. Then, when you were pregnant, I couldn't leave you. Why do you think that was? Those feelings you had for me are gone now, right?" Jake explained.
"Long gone, so should you be!" Bella growled, whilst Edward stood in the background smiling at his wife.
"That's because it was him. It was always him," Jacob continued, regardless of whether Bella was listening or not.
"Go Jacob!" Bella yelled, "Leave!".
Jake's face fell as he reluctantly walked backwards, but he didn't go far.
It took Bella a couple of days to calm down enough to allow Jake to see EJ. Though she wouldn't allow him to be alone with EJ, either she or Edward would hover around him. Bella would criticise everything he did, but he wasn't all that bothered because it allowed him to be with his imprint.
Week after week, the Cullens checked EdwardJacob's progress , he was fine and healthy, but the one thing that didn't make sense was that he was growing at an alarming rate. One evening Edward had discovered that EJ had the gift of telepathy, and he knew that Jacob knew already. Alice, shortly after, received a vision, one they were dreading.
"What are we going to do?" Bella asked.
"We need to kill them" Jake yelled in frustration, watching the Cullens just standing there pondering on their plan of action.
"It won't come to that Jacob, they are very powerful and will not hesitate when provoked. We are going to have to convince them that we have it under control and that EJ is harmless," Carlisle explained. "We are going to gather all the covens we know to be our witnesses that he is not a threat."
"Fine, then I will try and convince Sam and the rest of the pack to ally with us. It shouldn't be too hard as they already know that I have imprinted on EJ. It's our most sacred law. We protect our own," Jake added.
"Thank you Jacob, we really appreciate what you are doing for us, for EdwardJacob. And like you, we protect our family too," Carlisle agreed.
Everyone prepared themselves for the big event. They gathered their cousins and friends from all over. EdwardJacob was with Bella and Jake in Edwards' car as they went to each coven. EJ's ability allowed him to be able to read everyone's thoughts and show them his, which was enough to convince them. Some were reluctant at first, but with some talking from both Bella and Edward they eventually came around, most agreed simply because they were just curious to see how it would pan out. Many allied with the Cullens to go against the Volturi, but there were many more that allied with the Volturi, this was only because they were forced or they were threatened to be terminated if they didn't comply.
Two days later, they prepared for the confrontation. As the Volturi were approaching, it looked as though they were getting ready to strike. Bella and Edward looked at each other, and she instantly projected her shield around everyone including the pack of wolves. Jane tried to inflict pain but nothing happened, Peter was already releasing his vapours but he retracted when Aro stopped him.
"We only want to talk, EJ is harmless, as soon as Alice and Jasper arrive she will be able to explain everything. Edward will be able to sense when she is near" Carlisle reasoned.
"I will collect every facet," Aro called out. Edward gave a glance at Bella and EJ then started his walk towards Aro with Bella's shield until Bella was forced to retract it. Aro used both of his hands and took hold of Edward's hand. He looked deep into his thoughts before looking up at EJ. Aro gave a subtle smile whilst releasing Edwards hand. "I wish to see the child" Aro ordered. Reluctantly Edward nodded. Bella and EJ walked side by side with Jake closely behind them.
"Ah! Young Bella. Immortality becomes you," Aro mused before looking at the child.
"This is EdwardJacob," Bella introduced.
"Hello Aro," EJ greeted.
Aro stuck out his hand and EdwardJacob placed his hand on top. Aro saw EJ being conceived whilst Bella was still mortal.
As they all walked back, EJ whispered something to Bella, "Mom they won't hurt us today," EJ whispered. Bella looked at Edward smiling, but she still projected her shield. Peter began to release his vapours once again, only to pull them back after seeing Aro shaking his head.
"You see, EdwardJacob is harmless and we will make sure he will grow to know our ways" Carlisle added.
They all stood motionless in silence, Vladimir was eager to attack, but he knew he had to hold off until Carlisle said. He knew the fight would never happen. Then Alice and Jasper came walking out of the trees and headed straight towards Aro and the rest of the Volturi. They were stopped two paces away but Alice stuck her hand over Caius's shoulder for Aro to read. He was shown the battle and the end of the Volturi as well as EdwardJacob growing up with the rest of the Cullens that survived the fight. Aro was quite happy not to fight that day.

One year had passed and EdwardJacob was already in his teens. His telepathy gift had also grown stronger. Although Edward and Jake already knew, Bella was the only one who didn't know how they discovered his gift had grown. With Jake sitting next to EJ, he told his parents what had happened on that one cloudy day during spring time. He'd learnt he could control people's thoughts. He had discovered it at school when a couple of girls were bullying his friend, Justin. His friend doesn't know what EJ is or what he can do but EJ wants to tell him eventually. Since Justin is partially deaf and wears glasses, EJ felt very protective of him. The girls would call Justin rude names and even went as far as to threaten EJ. One day, they'd pushed Justin and this triggered EJ's gift. It took him a few moments before he realised what was happening and he made them Justin's servants during lunchtime.
"What just happened?!" Justin asked, gazing at EJ. "Where did you come from?"
"Erm… well I was within range and dealt with the situation. I don't think they will be calling you rude names again, that's for sure," EJ explained.
Justin looked at him suspiciously, "Thanks EJ, I feel you had something to do with it, but I am grateful that you did and thank you. You really are a good friend," Justin smiled appreciatively.
"What are best friends for," EJ smiled.
When the bell rang to signal the end of the day, EJ walked Justin home. It was only a couple houses after Charlies, which made it very convenient for EJ to sense if there were any dangers around his friend, especially when EJ would stay with Charlie every other weekend.
Every weekday, EJ would run to wait for Justin outside his house and they would walk to school together and have a laugh. Justin was so happy that he could be himself around EJ. To Justin, EJ was more than a best friend, he thought of him like a brother.
"EJ, I don't know how you came into my life, but I am glad that you did, you are like the brother I never had. My gran has always worried about me being alone since I don't have any brothers or sisters, but now I feel like I have one," Justin smiled.
"Well I feel the same, I would have liked to have a brother or sister, but now I have you. Though my family is a lot different to others," EJ explained.

That very evening EJ had already left Charlie's to go back home and when he saw Jake he ran into his arms. EJ loved how safe he felt in Jake's arms. Jake asked him about his day and EJ rambled on about school and his best friend Justin. Jake's and EJ's bond grew stronger everyday.
"EJ, do you know why you feel safer with me than anyone else? Have you ever wondered why?" Jake asked.
EJ shook his head, "I have kind of wondered, but i just thought we just get on well," EJ answered, "Though now you mention it, I would like to know why I feel safer with you more than anyone else," EJ said, letting curiousity get the better of him.
"Well you see I come from a long line of a tribe called the Quileate and some of us are given the gift to transform into wolves. We have the ability to imprint on our mates, but it's something that is out of our control. We cannot help who we imprint on. You see what I'm trying to say is that when you were a baby, we both locked eyes and we connected. That is imprinting. That is why you feel safe with me," Jake explained.
"So you are my mate as well as my protector?" EJ asked.
"Yes that's right," Jake said. EJ went in for another hug before falling asleep.

With each passing week Justin hung out with EJ almost everyday and he realised that EJ knew a lot about him but he did not know much about EJ. The few times he tried to get to know EJ better, EJ would dodge Justin's questions smoothly.
"Justin! I'll answer your questions one day, but for now please be patient," EJ explained. Justin huffed and sulked, and EJ just chuckled and ruffled his hair.
However Justin was persistent, he never gave up and kept asking questions whenever he saw a window of opportunity. EJ would still dodge the questions, and sometimes he would just ignore him as if he was concentrating on his studies.
One weekend Justin decided to tell EJ about an unusual dream he had.
"EJ, last night I had this strange dream about vampires and wolves. It was a pretty cool dream. I kinda wish they existed, it would make this town a little more interesting. Do you think they exist?" Justin asked with curiosity, as he noticed EJ freeze when he mentioned vampires and wolf shifters.. "EJ? Are you alright?" Justin waved his hand in front of EJ's eyes. EJ shook himself awake.

"Yeah I'm alright. So you had a dream about vampires and shifters," EJ recalled as Justin nodded. "Do you believe they exist?" EJ asked, half worried about asking the question. He was scared Justin might give him the answer he was dreading. EJ's shoulders dropped when Justin answered, with a surprised expression.
"I'm always hoping they exist. There's no excitement here in Forks. It would make me so happy if I met one or both," Justin explained. EJ smiled as he watched Justin walk back into the house. As soon as the door shut, EJ sped off deep into the woods, but little did he know Justin was watching through the sidelite window. EJ went to talk to Jake, he needed advice about how to approach the situation.
"EJ, what's up? You're looking flustered?" Jake asked, staring at EJ before giving him a hug.
"I have something to ask you," EJ panted slightly.
"Ok, what is it?" Jake responded.
"Well my best friend Justin, just told me that he had an unusual dream about vampires and wolves. He also wished that, if they existed, he could meet one or both. He said it would liven this town a bit more. What do you think I should do?" EJ asked.
Jacob thought how best to answer, "Well EJ obviously you would have to be careful, because we don't want the Volturi to find out and cause trouble for us. Eventually you would have to tell him," Jacob explained. EJ nodded.
"I understand. I'm hoping it will be easier than what I make it seem in my mind," EJ said.
"As long as you are careful, you should be fine. Come on get some sleep," Jacob repeated. EJ smiled before slowly closing his eyes.

A week later, Justin didn't ask anymore questions, but he did sneak out of the house and followed EJ into the woods. Justin raced inside the woods not realising anyone was about, he then let out a pained scream as he was attacked suddenly. EJ heard and ran back as fast as he could to reach him before Jane could finish him off.
"EJ, what do you think you're doing? You are no match for me," Jane sneered as she tried to inflict pain but nothing happened. She knew Bella was nearby.
"Don't you dare think about hurting my family Jane," Bella yelled, furious. Jacob and Edward were soon on either side of Bella and EJ.
"You're outnumbered Jane even with Alec with you," Edward stated as Alec came into view. Justin scanned everyone, he was feeling every emotion. His heart was pumping fast, he was scared, nervous, happy and excited.
When no one was talking or doing anything, something happened so fast, Justin didn't even realise, he felt strange heat radiating around him, he stared around in panic. Justin fixed his eyes on one of them and Alec let out a cry of pain, his head whipped back shattering his neck. When his body fell to the ground his head broke off. Jane screamed.
"Aro will know what you have done, I will have your whole coven destroyed this time," Jane screamed in fury and fled.
They watched her disappear and then looked at each other confused as to what just happened. They all knew it was none of them that killed Alec. Slowly, they turned to Justin with confused and suspicious expressions. Justin looked just as confused as they were. They wasted no time and went straight to Carlisle, who was also confused. However, he had no time to research because he knew he needed to protect his family first. They all knew the Volturi would act immediately and viciously. Within a couple of days they had arrived. The whole family and pack, as well as a scared Justin, stood waiting for them. The
Volturi were ready to strike but before they could speak, Demetrius and Caius suddenly dropped to the ground and shattered.
"Carlisle! Attacking your own kind, I'm disappointed, now you must pay the consequences of your action," Aro lurched forward but he stilled as he was suddenly split in half. Everyone looked shocked and couldn't believe what just happened. The rest of the Volturi fled, leaving Jane on her own. She growled and took a chance and met the same fate.
A week after the incident with the Volturi, they had discovered that it wasn't Justin that had killed them, it was EJ. Somehow EJ's telepathic gifts connected to his telekinesis. Since he was holding onto such strong emotions he was strong enough to literally tear them apart. Justin's life was never the same after that, though he was a little disappointed finding out he doesn't have that gift.
EJ started to train, he even trained in front of Justin who had still found it fascinating. EJ knew that Justin was ready to meet the rest of the pack.

Two weeks later EJ finally took Justin to meet the Pack. Although Justin always wanted them to exist, he never thought it would actually come true. Justin freaked out at first but then came around really quickly after seeing the pack phase into huge wolves. They all soon found out that Justin was from another native tribe and he was something else entirely.
