"If I didn't, would you never have told me?" Reqiel's voice was quiet, showing little of the turmoil he truly felt.
"I-I..." Sarell trailed off, his words clogging up his throat, he was relieved that Reqiel was safe. If it were up to him, he would have kept Reqiel all to himself, away from King Rinon, and away from all the dangers on Earth. "I only found out when you did, and I was wary of what King Rinon would do if I revealed the truth. He already sealed away your memories to keep you from returning to Earth, I was just trying to protect you."
Reqiel's lips turned down, deep down, part of him knew this, what he had with Sarell went beyond personal attendant and noble, the Angel practically raised him. He hoped to hear this but it didn't ease the turbulence in his heart. "My mother... Is-Is she truly dead?"
Sarell instinctively took a step forward like he wanted to protect Reqiel from the words he was about to say.
