By the time he woke up, it was already five in the morning the next day.
His fever had subsided, and although he was fatigued, he felt much better.
The housekeeper was standing by the bedside, and upon seeing him awake, she brought him a bowl of porridge. Sheng Shi was a bit hungry and managed to sit up and eat, leaving the bowl clean.
After the housekeeper took the empty bowl, she handed Sheng Shi his medication and said, "Mr. Sheng, a Mr. Chu called you several times last night."
"Mmm..." Sheng Shi replied nonchalantly, took the medicine, and with a tired gesture waved his hand, "It's late, you should rest now, I'm fine."
The housekeeper cleaned up the bowls and utensils and left.
Sheng Shi lay quietly for a while, and then the phone on the bedside table started ringing again. After letting it ring three times, Sheng Shi picked it up, glanced at the caller ID, hesitated for a moment, then answered, "Mr. Chu."
"Mr. Sheng, Jiaojiao..."
