Sheng Shi still stood in place, his demeanor nonchalant, his gaze fixed intently on Gu Lanshan. She sat on a small stool with a large basin in front of her, her hands red from the cold.
Gu Lanshan's expression briefly awkward, then she lowered her head.
Sheng Shi stared at Gu Lanshan's red hands for a long time before he silently blinked and walked into the house.
It wasn't until Sheng Shi entered the house that Gu Lanshan gently exhaled, but the sense of relief barely stabilized her emotions before they sank again. She kept her head down. Though she was washing clothes, her mind was elsewhere.
Mrs. Han didn't stay in the house for long before she stepped out again.
