Mr. Sheng immediately stood up and paid the bill before leaving.
After a long while, Gu Lanshan finally raised her hand, delicately opening the envelope Mr. Sheng had given her. She glanced at the contents inside, and as if seeing some sort of monster, Gu Lanshan quickly closed the envelope again and, with trembling fingers, stuffed it into her purse.
The door of the private room was still closed, but Gu Lanshan felt as if the air inside the room had suddenly become much thinner. She found it hard to breathe, so she turned her head and through the bright window, she saw the bustling city outside, her vision becoming somewhat hazy.
