Not all Westerners were like this though. The Westerners who came to Great Qi in the early years, such as businessmen like Andre, had long changed their living habits. Although they weren't as particular about hygiene as the Qi people, they weren't like their fellow countrymen who only took a few showers in their entire lives.
In the beginning, Caucasian Square was not so chaotic. Although it was not a big deal for the aristocrats to relieve themselves wherever they wanted in their home country, smart businessmen here knew how to do as the Romans do. Therefore, very few of them would violate the bottom line of the Qi people.
However, as the cost of going out to sea decreased, more and more people were willing to take the risk to sail overseas. Furthermore, all kinds of workers were needed on a ship, resulting in all kinds of Westerners coming to Great Qi, making them even harder to manage.
Only then did such a phenomenon appear in Caucasian Square.
