Chapter 11 - Second Day Of Training

After I finished changing into the uniform, I went to meet Iain who was standing outside. When he saw me in the uniform, he gave me a nod of approval, and we made our way to his car.

After we got in, Iain started driving the same route we took last time to get to the warehouse, or should I say training facility. When we arrived, the lot that had been empty last time now had some cars in it.

Iain parked, and we began to walk towards the warehouse. Just like before, Iain put his face inches away from the screen hanging next to the warehouse doors; his eyeball was scanned, and the doors slid open, revealing the interior of the warehouse.

Unlike yesterday, a few officers were in here today, all wearing that red and white uniform. After scanning the room, I counted at least 10 officers and one elderly man who didn't have a uniform but was wearing a red armband. They were all sitting on the floor with their water bottles, chatting and laughing - they must be on a break.

The noise continued until I heard an earth-shattering shout from my right. "EVERYBODY LISTEN UP!" There was a small pause, but with a single line, Iain was able to get everybody's attention. Every officer in the room stood tall, put their arms behind their backs, and echoed in unison, "Yes, sir!"

When I looked over at Iain, he had a serious expression on his face. It was surreal to see him in a position of power; however, I was immediately snapped back into reality when I heard a snicker come from the group of people. Followed by the snicker was a few stifled chuckles until everything fell apart, and the room was flooded with laughter.

I was confused as to why everybody was laughing until Iain turned to me. "Ha ha, sorry, I just wanted you to see how much power I have. So before I left to get you, I told them to do this. You had so much admiration on your face; I couldn't take you seriously!" Everybody continued to laugh at my expense, but for whatever reason, I had a smile on my face.

When the laughing died down, Iain started introducing me to the officers we'd be going on the raid with. The majority of the people in here had double digits on their armbands. The only exceptions were Iain and number 7 (whose name is Jack). I asked Iain where all the single digits went, and he told me that they were all on different assignments. Iain promised me that he, Jack, and I would be more than enough, though.

Overall, all the officers were very kind. I didn't remember every name, but if I were to give a short description of all the people: #12 was a tall blonde guy, #16 was an older lady with blackish silver hair, #19 was a guy with a short Mohawk, #20 was a younger guy with long black hair, #22 was a shorter guy with short brown hair, #23 was a short girl with purple dyed hair, #25 was a large bald man, #27 was an older man with a buzz cut, and #30 who actually stuck out to me. Not just because he had the lowest-ranking number, but also because of how genuine he looked. He was a shorter man with a fuzzy brown beard, short hair, and his name was Bob.

After I met everyone, Iain started explaining something important. "Okay, everybody! I already told you this a few days prior, but I'm going to say it again!" Iain started pacing the area we were in. "There are two places we'll be raiding on Wednesday, and to do this, we will be splitting into two groups. The first group will raid the actual house, and the second group will be raiding the basement behind the house, A.K.A., where the actual Lyrin lab is."

This is a complete shock to me because Iain never mentioned this to me. I don't get upset or anything, though, because it wouldn't really affect anything anyways. Knowing Iain, he probably just forgot to tell me. Iain continues, "The house group consists of #7 Jack, #20 Leo, #23 Kathy, #25 Trevor, #30 Bob, and now joining you is our Assist, Eve. The rest of us will be raiding the basement, we'll have the un-numbered officers cover the perimeter on Wednesday, understood?"

Once again, everybody responds, "Yes, sir!" However, unlike last time, the atmosphere is much more relaxed; this time, they were being genuine. "All right, everybody, break's over, let's get back to training!" After Iain says this, everybody starts to up walk toward the back of the warehouse. While we're walking, I turn back and see the elderly man with the red armband standing at the Crystal. Iain then shouts back to him, "Okay, Martin, let's get this test started!" The elderly man, who I now know as Martin, places his hand on the crystal, and the room goes pitch black, that is until the familiar house appears from nothing.

After that a weapon appeared in my right hand when I looked up everybody, in the room was holding a standard handgun with the only exception being Iain who was holding a Slender one handed sword which was sharpened on both sides, this was all Martins doing. I found it strange considering the last time I saw Iain fight he was using a shotgun. Then Iain speaks up one last time."Oh, one last thing before we start, guys! If ANYBODY gets shot, house or basement, we'll be restarting!" After Iain says this, everything goes dead silent before everyone processes what he just said….

"WHATTTT!" Then the timer began.
