"Here we are." I said, pulling into my parents dirt driveway, and pulling off to the side behind my dad's pickup.
The place looked just like I remembered. The driveway went to the side of the house, but people usually drove all the way to the back yard, so there we tire tracks that pretty much created a path all the way to the back. The front door was still usable, a stone walkway leading from the side where my mom's Camry was all the way to the front. She still had pretty flowers lining each side of the walkway all the way to the front after all of these years, and that made me smile. Sometimes, I like some things staying the same.
Most people entered from the sliding glass door in the back, which led right into the kitchen, which was where we were going. As I pulled up to the side, I unbuckled myself, and got out of the car. The girls did the same, stepping out of the car as I crossed over to the gate of the wooden fence that led into the back. It wasn't really necessary around here, as people tended to mind their own business, but my parents loved pets, and if they didn't do this, any of the ones they had right now would surely get out and get lost, or get eaten by the wildlife. I think my mom said they had recently gotten a dog, and cat or two. I can't remember, but I was eager to meet whatever animals they had.
"This is a cute little place." Liz commented, and Nadia nodded.
"Very quiet too. Definitely a welcome change from the loud big cities and stuff." Nadia added.
"Yep. This was my life for a while. Very peaceful and very quaint. I honestly had everything I needed out here, and I was never left feeling like I didn't have enough. My mom and dad supported me through everything, were always there for me, and gave me a life some kids could only dream of. They really helped shape me into the person I am now." I told them, and they both smiled softly at me.
"They sound absolutely wonderful." Liz said.
"They did a good job. You're a wonderful man." Nadia praised, making me smirk.
"Not as wonderful as you two." I said, and they both rubbed an arm each as I made my way towards the back gate.
I reached out and unlatched the gate, opening it and making my way into the back with my two ladies. Two things happened immediately. One, a dog started barking, making me turn and see a medium sized and very cute border collie sprinting towards us at an impressive speed. My girls gushed and squealed in excitement as it stopped in front of us, and began to sniff all of us. We all did the only natural thing one could do in a situation like this. We gave it the pets it deserved.
"YOU'RE SO CUTE!" Liz yelled in delight and she scratched it behind the ears.
"I want one!" Nadia exclaimed as she watch rubbing its back.
"You are cute. I'll have to ask mom about you." I said.
The next thing that happened was a voice that shouted at me only a moment later. The dog backed away, and went back to running through the back yard as my mom picked up speed.
"BABY!" My mom screamed, a wide smile on her face.
My mom honestly didn't look a day over 30 despite being close to 45 at this point. She always took very good care of herself, and regularly exercised and moved around on a daily basis. She was a short woman though at around 5' 5" so the height difference between her and myself, and my dad, was always kind jarring for people. She had brown hair that fell to her shoulders, big blue eyes that always mesmerized my dad, and the kindest, most nurturing personality I've ever met in my life.
She currently had some dirt on her face and arms, as she looked to be in the middle of planting more flowers and taking care of her little garden in the back. I stood back up, and speed walked towards her, and before I knew it, I was a kid again, with my mom holding me in her arms, pulling my head down to her level, and began planting several kisses on my face and forehead. I couldn't help but just grin.
"Hey mom. I missed you too." I laughed as she continued to smother me in affection.
"I missed you so much! You need to visit more!" She said, and pulled back to look at me, her eyes wet but her smile bright, "My sweet baby boy, look at how handsome you are."
She then felt my arms and biceps, and her eyes opened a bit more.
"How big do you plan on getting? You're going to be on the cover of one of those men's magazines at this rate."
I flushed pretty damn bad, and the girls behind me started to giggle, and from my bond, I could sense their amusement, but also they found the whole interaction incredibly cute and wholesome, and they already really like my mother. Before we left, I'm sure they'll love her. My girls laughing got my mom's attention, and she looked over at the both of them, and her eyebrows shot to the sky.
"You brought them both! Now, which one is the lucky lady?" My mom asked, looking both of them over many times, "ayou're both welcome in our home. You're both gorgeous! So, tell me?? I'm so excited that he finally has a girlfriend!"
They both flushed as well, and looked like they were having trouble forming words. I looked at my mom, deciding what exactly I should tell her. I was comfortable with my relationship, but I wasn't sure if she or dad would be accepting of it or not. Not only that, but there was the whole paranormal side of things too that I was going back and forth on in my head. Should I tell them about it or should I hold off for now? At the very least, I'd start with the easy part.
"Mom." I said, and then grabbed Liz and Nadia's hands, and my mom looked confused from my action, "I didn't tell you everything, mainly because I didn't know how you'd take it, but... these two lovely women are my girlfriends."
My mom blinked rapidly as I gestured for my ladies to introduce themselves.
"Elizabeth Jonnadeer. It's wonderful to finally meet you." Liz said, holding out her dainty hand.
To her credit, my mom took her hand, limply shaking it as I pointed to my redhead next.
"Nadia Brown. We've both been super excited to meet the people that raised such a wonderful man." Nadia said, holding out her hand next, and again, my mom took it, her eyes in danger of popping out of her skull.
My girls stood by my side, holding my hands as my mom's brain seemingly kept factory resetting every couple of seconds. After about 10 more seconds, she was finally able to say something.
"What?" She said, looking between the 3 of us again, noticing how close we were, and the tight grip we had on each other's hands, "What's happening?"
She didn't actually seem upset, which made me happy, but she was definitely very confused, and I didn't blame her. How did her son go from a shut in gamer with no love life to the man standing before her with two women at his side? I asked myself that question a lot at first.
"It's exactly how it looks. There's so much I want to tell you mom, but the most important thing to me is what I'm telling you right now. I found love, true and genuine love. I didn't expect the result... but I wouldn't change it. They can explain it far better than I can." I told her, and she just stared, her face unsure, and her expressions unreadable to me.
"We fully understand that this is unconventional. It's not even something either of us considered before we met Sid... but we both fell for him. Nadia and I have been best friends for a long time, and the thought of hurting each other wasn't something I could stomach. Neither of us could." Liz said, and then went on to explain how our relationship came to be, and my mom's eyes widened.
"Your mother suggested it??" She asked, and both Liz and Nadia nodded, and my mom rubbed her forehead as she looked at me, "You know honey... when I told you that you were going to get all of the ladies, I didn't mean literally. This is... a lot to process, but..."
She looked at us, how close we were, the looks their eyes when they spoke of me, and the look in my eyes when I looked at them, and a tiny smile graced her lips.
"You do seem happy... and there's no doubt that they love you. I look at your father the same way every day. I'll never tell you how to live your life, honey. All I've ever wanted is for you to be happy. It'll take some time getting used to this... a lot of time, but..." My mom said, and then in the fashion of who she was, she walked up to them, and embraced them both, "If you two truly love my son, I will do my best to accept it. I could hear how happy he was the last time I talked to him, and right now, his eyes are brighter than they've ever been. That's all a mom could ask for."
My mom truly knew how to speak, and apparently how to make people cry. My eyes were moist, my girls were tearing up and sniffling, but I was happy. My mom was going to do her best to be accepting of the situation because they made me happy.
That's what she's always cared about my whole life, and I wasn't sure what I did to deserve such a wonderful woman in my life. I had been worried that she wouldn't understand, but I should have known better. It was kinda odd that my normal ass mom wasn't as weirded out by this as I thought she would be, but I guess that's just how much she cared.
"We both love him so much, and we just want him to be happy." Liz said, a little choked up.
"We love him more than anything, and he loves us just as much. No one has ever made us feel the way Sid does." Nadia said, and actually rubbed her face against my mom's shoulder. That made Mom smile, and Nadia definitely got some extra points for being cute. Mom was like me in that she adored cute stuff.
"He's always been a sweet boy..." Mom said, pausing as she looked at me, and then at my girls, "I guess it was enough to attract two of you, huh? I'm curious to see how your father reacts. I am still having trouble believing it... but more than anything, I'm just happy for you."
That last part put a smile on my face.
"What's dad up to?" I asked, and she just smirked.
"Seasoning tonight's dinner. He wanted to make a good impression with his skills on the grill for you and your lady... well... ladies I guess. I hope you two like big fat steaks." Mom told us, and Liz smiled and nodded, while I could almost see Nadia begin to drool from the thought of it.
The dog suddenly began to jump at me, pawing at my chest, and tried to hump my leg. I laughed as I began to pet its ears, and my girls giggled at its actions.
"Daisy! We do not do that!" Mom scolded, but I just kept petting her, as I now knew.
"It's fine, mom. She's cute. Daisy, huh? Of course." I laughed, an obvious reference to her love for flowers and gardening. Pretty sure daisies are her favorite.
"She is a love! Were got a couple of cats as well. You'll have to see them. One is a bit older, and one is still a baby. I think you'll like that one the most." She told me, making me grin. I did indeed like cats quite a bit.
Daisy had gone from me to circling around my girls, before falling to her back and receiving her expected belly rubs. They happily complied, cooing and making cute noises at her, and that too put a smile on my face. I liked when things were like this. Just calm and chill, no fucking demons or weird ass people causing us problems. And to top it off, my mom was way more okay with me having two lovers than I thought she would, although I was sure it would still cause a few hiccups, but it was still progress.
"We should really go in. Derek has really missed you. It has been worse for him than me. He just won't admit it." Mom said, and that made me grin. Dad was always an emotional guy, but yeah, getting him to admit to that was never gonna happen.
"Girls?" I asked, and they smiled as they stood up and walked over to me. Daisy really liked them, as she just followed in their shadows, and Mom laughed.
"Oh my. Well, if Daisy approves, then I'm sure your dad will too. He loves that girl to pieces." She said, and I smiled at nodded.
Pretty much nobody was reacting to me having two girlfriends in the ways that I thought they would. Not at all, so with that in mind, I was just going to keep my expectations neutral for now. If he's the same man as he's always been, it'll probably be fine. Hell, I was worried about my mom, but that turned out just fine, so what the fuck did I really know?
The three of us, plus Daisy, followed my mom to the deck in the back. Once my mom opened the sliding glass door that led inside, Daisy darted inside like she took speed, making us all chuckle, as she went right for her food and water. My mom walked inside, with us following behind her, and right there was the kitchen. More important than that though, my father was there, tenderizing and season fat slabs of beef that actually drew my attention. Those definitely looked fucking good, and my stomach growled as I realized I didn't eat a damn thing today.
"Honey, look who's here." Mom said, prompting my dad to drop everything and spin around.
He looked just like I remembered. For one, he was roughly the same height as I was. His face was weathered yet not the one of a man who was almost 50. He had a full head of thick salt and pepper hair, bright brown eyes that misted as he looked at me, and a smile that conveyed his unconditional love for me. He had thick, muscular arms from years of work tearing up and replacing people's floors. He did have one of those dad guts on him, but it actually was smaller than last I saw him.
"MY BOY!" He yelled, and darted at me faster than I thought he could move.
Before I knew it, arms were crushing me in a tight bear hug as he actually was still able to lift me off of the fucking ground. I hugged him back just as tight, but I made sure to hold myself back, as I could quite literally crush him if I wasn't careful. I teared up being back in this embrace again. I owed this man more than I could put into words. He taught me everything about how to be a man, and watching his love and doting on my mom no doubt has helped me in my own relationship.
"Missed you dad." I said, choking a bit on the extra saliva forming in my throat.
My dad patted my back with force, but it was full of affection.
"I miss you every minute of everyday." He said, his own voice thick with emotions, and that definitely didn't fucking help matters.
I could feel my girl's happiness and building emotions from the moment. It made me happy that they finally got to experience the people who made me the person I am today. Like I said before, I may be adopted, but in my mind, I have real parents regardless goddamn it. These people right here were the only ones I ever needed growing up, and it was only now that I was realizing just how fucking much I missed them.
"You really need to visit more often." He choked out, not even trying to hide his feelings.
"Yeah... yeah I do. I'm sorry I've been away for so long." I said as I gripped him tighter.
He pulled back and looked me in the eyes, his red rimmed and teary eyes like a punch right to my heart.
"Well, you're here now. That's all that matters." He said, patting my shoulders before eventually releasing me.
The girls and my mom were a little emotional as well as they watched the interaction, tears rolling down their faces as well, but it was all from the joy heartwarming feelings that the reunion brought. My dad noticed, and then his face gained an air of confusion as he looked at not one, but the two beautiful women I had brought with me.
"Say, son, I have been really excited to meet your girlfriend. Your mother has told me how happy you've sounded, and I'm thrilled that you actually found someone, but... which one is it? She mentioned you were bringing a friend as well." He said, and to their credit, my girl's stood tall and proud, and my mom just smiled as she gestured for me to explain. I took a breath in, then breathed it out.
"Dad," I said, walking over to my girls, and holding my hands out, and they took a hand each with warm smiles as I pulled them closer to him, "I said I'd be bringing them with me, but I never specifically said that I was with one woman." I said, and my dad's eyebrows rose as I gestured for my girls to introduce themselves.
Liz held out her hand, and my dad took it, still looking rather confused still. She gave him an adorable smile, which did seem to help. That smile could end wars, I'll tell ya.
"Hello, Mr. Wilson, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Elizabeth Jonnadeer, and I am one of your son's girlfriend's." She said politely, and my dad's eyes finally began to open wider, not quite bulging just yet.
"One of my son's.... what?" Dad asked, his gaze shooting over to my lovely red head as she approached as well, and held out her hand.
My dad, as confused as he was, was a gentleman, so he once again took the offered hand. He did so with the grace of a cat wearing socks, but it was the gesture that mattered.
"Your son is an incredible man, Mr. Wilson. Too incredible for just one of us." She said, giving a cute smile as my dad's eyes finally began to actually pop out of his skull, "I'm Nadia Brown, and your son's other girlfriend. I'm so happy to finally meet the people that raised such a wonderful person."
"I... huh?" He eloquently responded, making my mom chuckled this time.
"I just went through this. Just breathe honey, and give them a chance. They're both very sweet." She told him, and he looked at her, then at me, then at my girls, and back at me again.
"Sid... two?" He asked me like he couldn't believe it.
"Two." I replied evenly, and he just ran a hand through his hair, and then to everyone's surprise, just began to laugh.
"Haha. Good god... here I was thinking you'd never find a girl because you couldn't get off those games, and now you bring two girls home? Am I in the matrix?" He asked, and I couldn't stop the laugh that shot out from my throat.
"To be fair, I play my games with them now." I said with a chuckle, and now the girls were getting in on it too.
"I'm pretty sure I play just as much or more than Sid does." Nadia said, looking very proud of herself.
"She does. Everytime I go over to her house she's just cursing at people online or something." Liz added, making my dad laugh even more.
"Ha! I know that all too well! Maria and I would just be watching TV in the living room, and then we'd just hear, 'You motherfucker!,' or something like that from his room." He said, and that made my mom join in on the laughter.
Currently, I was beginning to wonder if I was in the matrix instead. My parents were normal ass people in a monogamous relationship, so the fact that both of them were not reacting the way I thought they would was throwing me for a loop. Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled that they weren't freaking out or anything. I wanted them to like my girls, and it seemed like they already were beginning to, it was just working out almost too perfectly...
"I think I need to sit down and hear how the hell this happened. Come, sit, and tell me about... this." My dad said, leading us to the living room, and gesturing to me and the girls.
He gave me a warm smile, one that was the same one I'd be used to since I was a young boy. I looked over at my mom, who was giving me a similar smile. I felt stupid almost insantly. Of course this was how they would react. It was just who they were. They were always there for me, they always had my back no matter the situation, and they were always accepting of me and my choices. It was perfect because it was them, and that's why I loved them so much. I owed them everything, and now here they were, happy and pleased that I had finally found love, regardless of how many people I shared it with.
I grabbed my girl's hands, and led them over to the large couch in the middle of the living room. We sat down, and they both leaned into me as I wrapped my arms around both of them. My parents sat down across from us, my mother doing something similar to my dad as he wrapped an arm around her waist. They were always happy, and were still madly in love to this day. Of course they understood. They were the ones that showed me how love should be, after all.
"You know, it seems strange at first, but it's also very cute. I can see the connection you three share." My mom said, and that made the girls smile.
"I never would have expected this... and yet... it looks so normal for you three. And I'm dying to know how this happened." My dad said.
I looked at the girls, who straightened out their postures as they got into speaking mode. We all had a lot to explain, and a lot to show them. My girls knew how much I wanted to tell them, and only after this short time, they trusted both of them, and they both agreed. So, we would tell them of how our relationship came to be, and beyond that...
"It's a good thing you are both sitting down, because you're going to need to be after all of this." I said, as I prepared to tell them about the world not being what they thought it was.
