CHAPTER 120: MORE PERSONAL MATTERS
The celebrity event she had lined up was substantial, but this—this would put her on the map in ways she had only dreamed of. This was the breakthrough she and her friends had been waiting for.
"I'm in," she said, her voice firm.
"Excellent," Cassandra replied. "We'll draw up a contract right away."
After a brief pause, Diana pressed a button on her desk.
Vanessa rushed in almost instantly. "Yes, ma'am?"
"Vanessa, draw up a contract for Miss Cassandra Movich on behalf of the Prime Minister."
Vanessa's eyes widened in excitement. "Really?"
"Yes, really. And be quick about it—Miss Cassandra has a tight schedule."
"Yes, ma'am." Vanessa nodded eagerly and hurried out of the office.
Cassandra smiled and turned back to Diana. "Now, let's get to more *personal* matters. How's *my* boyfriend doing? Let me guess, you've been receiving the same 'favors' I did, right? Just like every other woman he's been with?"
Diana's eyes narrowed in confusion. "What are you talking about, Cassandra? What favors, and what nonsense are you spouting this time?"
"Oh, you know," Cassandra said lightly, leaning back in her chair. "The one thing that binds us all together—all the women he's been with share this *one* truth in common."
Diana folded her arms, staring Cassandra down. "Are you saying you've all formed some sort of clique, or what? Enough of your bullshit, just spit it out already."
Cassandra's lips curled into a smirk. "The fact that he's amazing in bed. That's the truth we all know."
"What did you just say?" Diana demanded, rising slowly from her chair.
"Oh, did I touch a nerve?" Cassandra cooed mockingly. "What's wrong, darling? Don't look so sour. And not to mention," she leaned forward, eyes glinting maliciously, "he's *infertile*. That's practically common knowledge."
Diana's lips twisted into a wicked smile as she sat back down. "Is that so?"
"Wow, Cassandra, you'll say anything just to drive a wedge between us, won't you?" Diana retorted calmly. Despite Cassandra's taunts striking a nerve, she refused to let it show. The last thing she'd do was let her see that her words had hit a sore spot.
Cassandra's smile tightened. "Oh, you may not want to admit it now, but it's probably because he's so good in bed, right? That's why you're still hanging on, isn't it?"
Diana remained silent, her expression giving nothing away.
"Of course," Cassandra went on smugly, misinterpreting Diana's lack of response. "At least you won't come out empty-handed from this sham of a marriage."
Diana responded with a cold smile. "Let me guess, Cassandra. The same reason you think I'm with him is why you want him back, isn't it? Not because you truly love him. If you did, you wouldn't have moved on so quickly to find yourself a Prime Minister."
She paused, her eyes never leaving Cassandra's. "But then again, what else should I expect from a spoiled rich brat whose family is practically entwined with royalty?"
Diana's smile widened. "Just so we're clear—you're not getting him back, no matter what you say or do. And if, in the end, things don't work out between us, do you really think he'll come running back to you? The same woman he left to be with me?" Her voice dripped with confidence. "You'll have to do better than this, Cassandra."
Cassandra's face contorted with rage as she clenched her fists, struggling to keep her composure while staring daggers at Diana.
Unfazed, Diana continued nonchalantly, "Here's a piece of advice from me as your new business partner—stop trying so hard. It's not worth it."
Just then, Vanessa entered with the completed document. Diana's smile turned sugary sweet as she placed the contract in front of Cassandra.
"Thank you, Vanessa," she said, eyes still locked on Cassandra. Cassandra yanked open the seal and pressed it onto the paper with such force that the stamp stood out brighter than usual. She then signed her name in sharp, jerky movements before standing up abruptly.
"Please follow my secretary. She'll give you a photocopy of the signed contract," Diana said smoothly. "It's been nice doing business with you, Miss Movich. Perhaps we can sit down and have a more in-depth conversation another time."
Diana leaned back in her chair, her smile saccharine. "Do drop your number with my secretary. I'll give you a call. And I'm sorry I can't see you out—I'm completely swamped today."
Cassandra bit her lip, her eyes flashing with anger, but she had no response. She stormed out of the office, leaving Diana watching her departure with a satisfied smile.
