A silver ring appeared at her neck and chest, and as crimson veins surfaced from her tail, Yamato fully entered White Mode, a brand-new form in which Reshiram's power was completely unleashed.
"So this is Reshiram's power?"
Just like when she was empowered by Zekrom, Yamato could feel a tremendous power surging within her. The two powers were evenly matched, yet their attributes were completely different.
As she began to control the power inside her, the surrounding air temperature subtly began to rise.
Reshiram's flames are the fire of truth that burns away desire; the flames from its tail alone is enough to heat the surrounding atmosphere, bringing about changes in the weather.
Originally, after Yamato's transformation, under the influence of the modified Okuchi no Makami's extreme cold, snowflakes would drift through the air.
Now, as Yamato strengthened this power of flames, the rising hot air clashed with cold currents high above, and a torrential downpour burst forth.
The rain washed away the bloodstains on the ground and swept off the dust, as if signifying a new beginning for Dressrosa, and also symbolizing that Yamato herself had washed away her urge to run from Kaido, ready to face that shadow directly.
Moreover, the heavy rain was only temporary. Reshiram wouldn't use its power to create a battlefield unfavorable to itself; the dark clouds quickly dispersed, and a brilliant sun hung in the sky.
Sunlight spilled onto the land. Though the fighting had not stopped, a brand-new beginning had already arrived, for both Dressrosa and Yamato herself.
[Kyurem's body, Reshiram and Zekrom were originally one unified power; only when they merge into one do they become the true Tao Dragon.]
When she first accepted the power, Arceus's words resurfaced in Yamato's mind. Now, with both Zekrom and Reshiram having given their approval, she instinctively wanted to try to fuse them.
And then…
She failed.
"Don't even think about it. Even if both I and that unrealistic guy have acknowledged a part of you, getting me to acknowledge this guy full of fantasies isn't that easy."
"I've had enough of you today. What are you, a guy with no ideals, talking about? It's not that you don't acknowledge me, it's I that don't acknowledge you!"
Yamato could tell that Reshiram and Zekrom seemed to be arguing, and arguing fiercely.
Actually, this state had never really gone away. The two of them would squabble from time to time. Earlier, Zekrom had kept silent just to save up for a post-battle debate.
They are two sides of the Tao Dragon, and their personalities naturally clash. If it weren't for Arceus, fighting from dawn to dusk would be the norm. Even now, they occasionally use force to prove their point.
It's just that before, they'd never shown this side in front of Yamato.
Usually, certain private matters are only for family to see. The twin dragons no longer hid these things. In a sense, this was another layer of recognition for her.
Reshiram and Zekrom's acknowledgment were like two different side quests, which can also be viewed as preliminary tasks before the main storyline. Now, having completed these prerequisites, she faced a new final challenge.
What happened in the heart's world did not directly affect the outside; at least to outsiders, not much time had passed.
"Looks like the conversation failed. The fight to truly decide things between us will have to continue."
Redfield's attitude toward Doflamingo shifted from contempt to seriousness.
Even if he couldn't read Yamato's mind, Redfield could see her resolve. Since she'd made up her mind, she wouldn't back down just because of a few words. If he wanted to take down Doflamingo, he'd have to get past her first.
Unlike Doflamingo, Yamato was a formidable opponent, one he couldn't defeat easily even using his full strength.
Of course, his target still wasn't Yamato, but Doflamingo. As long as Doflamingo was eliminated, there'd be no reason for conflict between them, at least for the short term.
Judging by how much Yamato disliked Doflamingo, if the guy died, she might not even do anything.
Darkness descended once again. Even the dazzling sunlight vanished completely as it neared the black mist released by Redfield.
In broad daylight, it was harder for his Bat-Bat Fruit: Model Vampire to operate at full power. The camouflage of the black mist couldn't compare to the true night, but it was more than enough for his needs.
Redfield's body once again melted into his own mist, but this time the result was different. Just as he locked onto Doflamingo, a wave of heat forced him back.
Redfield had just withdrawn when blue flames swept over the spot where he'd been standing.
Compared to the instantaneous lightning and protruding layer of ice, the continuously burning flames were far better at dispersing the darkness that Redfield released.
"Your appearance has changed, and your ability has too? You've never used an ability like this before."
"It's just a breakthrough. You've used that technique three times already; it won't work again!"
Three times, Yamato had dispersed the black mist—once with ice, once with lightning, and once with fire—and every method was immensely powerful. Even Redfield found this variety of abilities truly unusual.
In all his decades of experience, he had never encountered such a complex ability, but he merely sighed at it.
After tightening his grip on the umbrella, which had now completely transformed into a sharp blade, he clashed repeatedly with Yamato's flaming Takeru.
Redfield did not shrink back because of the new power Yamato displayed. He was determined to fulfill his promise and wouldn't give up over a minor difficulty.
Blue Flare swept across the entire battlefield, turning even rocks into fuel for the Blue Flare. At this point, flames had spread to most of the arena, forcing everyone else to withdraw from this dangerous area.
Hercules was the farthest away. As a beetle, these high-temperature flames had a huge effect on it; it even felt as if its wings were almost scorched.
And its master beside it was so shocked that his jaw nearly hit the floor.
"Is that fire? Wasn't her ability lightning and ice? Why is it suddenly fire? What kind of ability does she even have? Can a Mythical Zoan really do all this?"
He even tried to reach out and feel the heat, but Marco slapped his hand away.
"Don't mess around. That fire is not the same as mine."
They were both blue flames, but Marco's flames were the flames of healing, while Yamato's were flames of destruction.
At this moment, Marco had taken on the role of a medic, tending to the wounds of his nearby allies. As a large amount of flames of healing washed over the battlefield, the condition of their side visibly improved.
"Seriously, now there's another person who can use fire. Doesn't that make Ace's power not special at all?"
"Oh, by the way, thanks for healing Brook and the others, Brother Pineapple Head."
Seeing his comrades getting back up, Luffy offered his thanks.
"No problem! After all, you're Ace's brother. Wait, who are you calling Pineapple Head? My name is Marco! Marco!"
Marco's main objective remained the Quake-Quake Fruit. The battle between Yamato and Redfield was also an opportunity. It might give him a chance to snatch it. However, Luffy's way of addressing gave him a bit of a headache.
