"Knock out everyone…. still standing?"
"That's right. You don't need to worry about the royal palace; just sweep the surrounding areas again to make sure no stragglers slip through and cause trouble."
As the leader of Baroque Works was this weak, Yamato had completely lost interest in the small fries outside.
Even those who could maintain their consciousness under the effect of her Conqueror's Haki weren't real powerhouses. They probably couldn't even defeat her Blissey.
However, she felt that fighting wasn't something Blissey was suited for, so it was better to let that sibling duo get some exercise instead.
After hanging up the call, the sibling pair, who had been watching from the sidelines, exchanged glances.
Since they hadn't received any orders before, the two of them had just been resting at the inn. While they are usually loafing around, when it was time to take action, they would still follow orders from above.
Yamato had absolute authority over them in terms of both strength and status. As long as they followed her lead, even if they caused trouble, it wouldn't matter—after all, she would be the one taking responsibility.
"Pay-tan~"
"Stop right there. I'll go outside, you take the inside. Sister Yamato said to knock down everyone still standing as soon as possible."
"Huh? When did she say 'as soon as possible'?"
"I feel like that's what she meant. Anyway, it's time to act, Sister. Oh, and Sister Yamato said 'knock down,' not 'kill them all.' So keep yourself in check."
Before leaving, Page One specially reminded Ulti, just in case she got carried away and did something reckless.
But he was only saying that out of habit—none of the people here could even hurt Ulti, let alone push her to the point of losing control.
Then, instead of taking to the air, Page One burrowed directly underground.
Garchomp has two ways of living. One is flying through the sky at a speed comparable to a jet fighter, hunting its prey in the process. Due to its incredible speed, once it locks onto a target, there is no escape.
However, Garchomp is ultimately a Pokémon that resides on land. Wild Garchomps tend to have a habit of digging tunnels. Aside from hunting in the sky like a falcon, they also attack from below like a shark.
Only, instead of coming from underwater, they strike from underground.
The scales on Garchomp's body allow it to sense vibrations from the ground above.
The ones still standing couldn't possibly remain motionless. As soon as they moved, Page One could use Garchomp's ability in combination with Observation Haki to ultimately pinpoint the enemies' locations.
However, when it came to digging tunnels, it was easy to accidentally dig too far.
...
"Pay-tan, why... are you here?"
"I dug too far..."
In Alabasta's underground chamber, Cobra had originally brought Robin here as promised to retrieve a rubbing of the Poneglyph. However, the stones above suddenly loosened, and then Page One emerged directly from within.
In the underground cavern, eyesight was useless—everything had to rely on sensing. Page One had noticed some movement in this area, so he accidentally dug his way over.
"Ahem... this was an accident. The soil here is quite desertified—I'm not used to it. Sister Yamato still has a task for me, so I'll be going now."
Page One retreated the way he came and, on his way out, conveniently sealed off the hole he had dug with stones.
"Your Majesty Cobra, as you can see, we're quite capable at what we do. If you ever need assistance, feel free to call this number."
After Page One's little mishap, Robin handed Cobra a business card. Having worked under Tesoro for a while, she had picked up some professional habits—like casually promoting some of the Beasts Pirates' essential services.
"I'd prefer to never have to use this, but that bomb Crocodile mentioned..."
"Oh, that? Don't worry. I've just received word—my partner has already found it. By now, it's probably been completely dismantled."
"That's some truly impressive efficiency..."
Meanwhile, in a tower within the royal capital, Lizzi had finished dealing with the Baroque Works agents stationed there. Using the special structures on its tail and fingers, it had also successfully completed the bomb disposal.
As the Secret Agent Pokémon, disposing of bombs was effortless. Its special eyes allowed it to easily see through the structure of the bomb and disassemble it accordingly.
If there was any unexpected incident during this operation, it was that Luffy encountered some unforeseen circumstances.
He originally wanted to hurry to the royal palace to take on Crocodile, but before he could get there, Yamato had already taken Crocodile down. On his way, he then encountered Ulti, who was clearing out the remaining stragglers.
Due to their stubborn way of communicating, he was swiftly knocked down by Ulti's Ulti-Mortar, and in the end, Hercules dragged him off to the side.
...
After receiving their agreed-upon reward, Yamato and the others left Alabasta. Along with them, they also took Robin.
Over the years, Robin had already thoroughly explored all the ruins in the area, and now that she had acquired the information on Poneglyph, there was no longer any reason for her to stay.
Although they didn't play a decisive role, the Straw Hat crew still helped Alabasta significantly and received a warm welcome from Cobra in return.
Crocodile was handed over to the Marines, who arrived later. However, Crocodile remained completely silent, ignoring all of the Marines' interrogations. In the end, the only intelligence they could gather was that Yamato and her group had been hired and had defeated Crocodile's forces.
To cover up their own failure, the Marines still credited the victory to Smoker, but Yamato's actions had also drawn the attention of the nearby Marines. This, in turn, made the Straw Hats' next departure much smoother and even added a new crew member to their ship—the okama, Mr. 2 Bon Clay.
After Crocodile's downfall, he managed to escape using his Clone-Clone Fruit's ability. Recognizing the value of true friendship, he joined Luffy's crew.
Due to her royal duty, Vivi did not join them. At this moment, she and Cobra were looking at the new wonder within their kingdom—an ice surface, which was created during Yamato's battle with Crocodile.
Previously, while traveling, Yamato had only created ordinary ice for Ulti. That type of ice melted quickly under the sun, behaving no differently from naturally formed ice.
But this ice was different. To counteract Crocodile's Ground Death technique, Yamato had drawn upon the power of Kyurem. This power permanently altered the landscape, leaving behind an everlasting ice spring in the otherwise scorching-hot Alabasta.
However, Yamato was unaware of this. She had already asked Robin to recalculate their course based on descriptions of the Millennial Dragon, and they were now sailing toward their next destination.
King was still searching for Blackbeard, while Arceus and Shayna had already embarked on their journey back home. Meanwhile Queen arrived at his workplace where he was working overtime—an island teeming with Pokémon.
This place came into existence around the same time as the Chubby Express Courier and its purpose was to test the members of the pirate crew.
Its name was—Charicific Island.
