Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Time to Address Things -1

Now there were only two rewards left.

The Level 25 Hero reward and the Level 35 Explorer reward.

Since the Explorer reward might be an Intermediate one, I decided to open the Hero reward first.

Accept: Yes No >

At this point, I had basically categorized the Hero job as the "money-printing" job. Honestly, its rewards had already given me more money than the Merchant job reward had.

– Charm Increase

– Gold Coin ×50>

The moment I accepted it, a pouch dropped into my palm, and a strange tingling sensation spread across my body—most noticeably around my face.

Just as I was about to scratch it, the sensation vanished.

Ignoring that for now, I opened the pouch and saw the familiar gleam of gold coins inside.

So the Level 25 Hero reward was the same as the Level 5 and Level 15 ones… so predictable.

"…Does this system want me to go around buying and saving every slave girl in this world?" I muttered with a sigh as I set the pouch aside.

That's when I noticed it.

Several pairs of eyes were on me.

The moment I looked up, the girls quickly turned away and resumed their conversations—but not before I caught quite a few of them sneaking glances in my direction.

Shea and Kunou were the most obvious about it.

In fact… aside from Roxanne, almost all of them kept glancing at me repeatedly.

"Rem… does Master's face look a bit different?" Ram whispered softly.

"Yes, Nee-sama… it feels l-ike… like I can't stop looking," Rem replied, blushing faintly.

"Ah, my little Rem is all grown up now," Ram said dramatically, pretending to wipe tears.

"Don't make fun of me, Nee-sama! And we're the same age!" Rem shot back.

Apparently, my face had become a topic of discussion.

I even caught Sherry muttering something along the lines of, "How does unlocking bloodline power make someone more handsome?"

…So this was the effect of the Charm Increase?

Even Anastasia—who would normally be more interested in the pouch of gold—was stealing glances at me instead.

Yeah… I definitely needed to check my reflection later to see what had changed.

Letting the girls be, I shifted my attention to the final reward.

Accept: Yes No >

If I had to pick one job whose rewards were consistently the best, it would easily be Explorer. Every single reward from it had been both unique and incredibly useful.

From the backpack, to the bottle, the potion flasks, and even the skills—every reward had been exceptional.

And since this was likely an Intermediate-tier reward, it might be even better than the previous ones.

– Explorer's Backpack>

A large brown bag suddenly appeared on the dining table in front of me.

"Ah! Master, did you make something again with your weird bloodline powers?" Sherry asked, immediately standing up.

"Oh, it's another magic bag," Roxanne identified it at a glance.

"Ah, is Master using his magic to create new things?" Shera asked as she got up and walked closer.

"I wanna see too!" Shea said, hopping up and following her.

Soon, most of the girls had stopped maintaining their equipment and gathered around me, crowding my side. They all stared at me expectantly, as if waiting for something more to happen.

Meanwhile, Roxanne simply looked at me with a quiet, disapproving gaze—as if blaming me for interrupting their precious equipment maintenance time.

I could only smile wryly at the situation.

A few girls like Miria, Setsuna, and Viviana remained seated, though even they had their eyes fixed on me.

"I've already used up the extra bloodline power I had accumulated," I explained simply. "I gained a few skills, and these two items—a pouch with 50 gold coins, and this magic bag."

I pushed both items forward and opened the pouch slightly, letting the golden coins gleam under the light.

"So many shiny coins…" Kunou murmured, fascinated.

"Hearing about it is one thing, but actually seeing coins appear out of thin air…" Yasaka said softly, her gaze drifting toward me. "It still feels like a dream… My Master is truly amazing."

She finished with a shy, flushed expression, her fox tail swaying gently behind her.

"If I had your power, Master, of producing money, then I would easily become the wealthiest merchant in the entire Empire," Anastasia said with a long sigh.

"If any bandit group finds out about Master's power, they would do anything to kidnap him," Remu muttered seriously.

"Hmph, I'll shoot them all before they can even get close to Master," Shera said with a confident smirk.

"I'll smash them all with my hammer!" Shea added proudly.

"If it continues like this… won't Master end up having more wealth than any noble house?" Erina asked with wide eyes.

"Is that true, Master?" Lillia followed up, looking at me curiously.

"I have to reiterate—my bloodline powers are still quite random," I said firmly, emphasizing my words. "So it's unlikely that it will just keep producing money."

"Yes, yes, you've said that before, Master," Sherry said impatiently. "Now can I check out this magic bag? It looks different from the other two."

As she mentioned it, I used Appraisal on the bag.

[Explorer's Backpack

– 20 cubic meter storage space]

"20…?" I muttered aloud, a bit incredulous.

"What happened, Master?" Roxanne asked, slightly concerned.

"Did you check it with your skill? What does it say?" Sherry pressed impatiently.

Instead of answering immediately, I picked up the backpack, opened it, and slid my hand inside.

Closing my eyes, I could sense a vast empty space within.

At first, I couldn't quite gauge its size, so I placed the pouch of gold coins inside. It settled neatly into one corner.

By moving it around to different points, I slowly began to grasp just how massive the internal space truly was.

"Masterr, don't keep us in suspense!" Vesta said, fidgeting nervously.

Even Sherry looked visibly agitated.

"This bag is… twice as big as the larger magic bag we already have," I said, taking a slow breath.

"Oh, that's nice, right?" Lillia asked with a smile.

"Not just nice," I replied, shaking my head. "This means it has space equal to an entire small room inside it."

A sharp collective gasp spread through the group, followed by a chorus of stunned "wows."

"That can't be true…" Remu muttered, staring at the bag in disbelief.

Even I hadn't fully grasped just how large a 20 cubic meter space actually was. If arranged properly, I could probably fit two large cars inside it.

…The Intermediate Explorer reward had given me something completely insane.

"Master, can I check it now, please?" Sherry asked again, barely containing herself as she reached out for the bag.

"Sure. You can all take a look," I said, handing it over while reminding them that the pouch of coins was still inside.

"Even the leather quality is different…" Sherry muttered as she examined every inch of it. "This isn't hardened leather… it's tougher, but also softer somehow. How strange."

Her observation made me nod.

I had long suspected that these level-up rewards didn't originate from this world at all.

"There's no reason for all of you to keep standing here," Roxanne said, addressing the group. "Go continue your equipment maintenance. After Sherry is done, everyone can take a look at the bag."

I nodded in agreement.

With reluctant sighs, the girls returned to oiling and polishing their equipment, though their eyes still kept drifting back toward the bag.

Meanwhile, Sherry had finally opened it and slipped her small hand inside.

"This makes no sense…" she muttered, eyes widening. "There's really this much space inside!" She paused, frowning deeply. "How was this even made? What materials were used? Even after examining three of these, I'm no closer to understanding it."

Hearing her, I almost pointed out that the personal inventory everyone in this world had—just from possessing a job—was far more absurd. The fact that they could stack identical items, as long as they were labyrinth drops, was honestly more unbelievable than this bag.

But… I knew that wasn't what she wanted to hear right now.

"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll figure it out someday," I said with a smile. "After all, you're the most talented Master Smith I know."

"Do you even know any other Master Smith?" she asked with her deadpan look.

"Why would I need to, when I already have you?" I replied with a wink.

A faint blush crept onto her cheeks before she quickly handed the backpack over to Roxanne and walked over to her seat.

Roxanne set aside her Steel Forehead protector and the oil cloth, wiped her hands clean with a towel, and then carefully inspected the backpack.

"Master… there's so much space," she said, her eyes lighting up. "If we had this earlier, we could have stored all of Wendy's stuff inside—and she could have bought even more without worry."

Well… she wasn't wrong.

The other two bags—the 1 cubic meter and the 10 cubic meter ones—were already starting to feel too small for our needs.

We were using them for food storage, equipment, and even dungeon drops. Just today, the loot from the labyrinth trap had nearly filled the 10 cubic meter bag.

With this new one, though… we finally had the freedom to organize things properly.

And more importantly—

we now had plenty of room to grow.

The other girls took turns examining the backpack one by one. My ears were starting to get tired from all the constant praise… along with Roxanne repeatedly reminding them to wipe their oily hands before touching it.

However, what Viviana said next almost made me choke on the hot water I was drinking.

"The ability to create fantastical items like this magical backpack… and even produce gold and platinum coins…" she said, looking at me with sympathy. "It's no wonder Master's ancestors—the Kaga family—were wiped out without leaving any records behind."

I almost wanted to bury my face in shame.

…I had nearly forgotten about my conveniently "extinct" Kaga lineage.

"Exactly. No noble family would tolerate such an absurd power existing," Erina added, nodding seriously. "Even just the ability to keep food and ingredients fresh inside, something like this would have driven my grandfather mad. He would have done anything to obtain it… he might have even sold me off for it, or tried to force Master into joining the Nakiri family," she said with a light, almost casual chuckle.

But just as quickly, her smile faded.

Her expression trembled, as if she was on the verge of tears.

Viviana gently placed a hand on her back, offering a quiet, reassuring smile.

"Thank you…" Erina muttered softly before lowering her gaze and returning to polishing her leather armor in silence.

I could guess what was on her mind.

She was probably thinking about her grandfather… or perhaps she was simply missing home. In fact, I hadn't had an honest conversation with her about the rumors surrounding her family, so I had no real idea how to comfort her. And this definitely didn't feel like the right time to bring up something that sensitive.

Still it didn't take long for the atmosphere to recover.

The other girls soon returned to chatting cheerfully as Roxanne guided them on properly maintaining their equipment. And before long, the backpack made its way back into my hands.

Finally, I had the chance to inspect it properly.

Even now, I was still amazed by the vast space inside it.

For a moment, a ridiculous thought crossed my mind—

…Could I fit inside it myself?

Maybe I should test it with someone smaller first… like Sherry, Remu or Nyx.

I let out a quiet chuckle at the idea.

Though realistically… testing it with a small animal—like a chicken—would be the smarter choice.

After all, there was a very real risk of death involved.

With that thought in mind, I reached inside and pulled out the heavy coin pouch. I smiled faintly when I saw it was still tightly sealed and exactly where I had left it.

Of course, I trusted my girls.

None of them would steal from me.

…but that didn't mean I should tempt fate. Anyone could make a mistake in a moment of weakness. It was better to take precautions from the beginning.

The reassuring weight of the pouch in my hand brought me a small sense of peace.

Mostly because… I had spent quite a bit today.

More than 14 gold coins had gone into the witches' supplies.

Then there was the equipment—steel weapons for everyone, along with either hard leather or full steel armor—which alone came to around 3 to 4 gold coins per person.

Even after applying my cheat skills, the total still came out to 24 gold coins.

Expensive… but with a group this large, it was inevitable.

Then came clothes, beds, and additional furniture—chairs, the sofa—another 5 gold coins, even after my discount skill.

Which meant that, until just now, I was down to barely fifty-something gold coins and a single platinum coin.

Still a large sum… but with nineteen people in this household, it would certainly not last long.

That's why this extra fifty gold coins was a genuine relief.

I slipped the pouch into my pocket and exhaled quietly.

Then, straightening up, I cleared my throat.

The room gradually fell silent as all eyes turned toward me.

"It has been six days since I started living in this house," I began, glancing at Roxanne, who smiled and nodded. "Some of you have been with me since the beginning…"

My gaze shifted across the others—Sherry, Lillia, Anastasia, and the rest.

"…and some of you joined later. But regardless, we've all been living together for some time now."

I crossed my arms and looked at everyone in turn.

"Which is why… I think it's time we address some of the serious issues that have been piling up."
