Chapter 35 - The Audacious God of Death

Chen Xiao's face drained of color as he stared at Lin Feng. "What… you are the famous God of Death?" His voice trembled. "Shit… I've offended the wrong person this time."

He had heard the rumors—how Lin Feng had wreaked havoc across the Lower Realm, how even seasoned Heaven Realm experts fell before him, and how merciless he was in battle. Chen Xiao wasn't afraid of death, but he had never faced someone like Lin Feng.

"Before we settle this matter, wake him up," Lin Feng commanded calmly.

"Yes, God of Death," Chen Xiao muttered, shivering.

---

One hour later…

"Senior Brother, you're awake." Chen Xiao's companion nudged him, but the moment his eyes fell on Lin Feng, he screamed and fainted again, collapsing to the floor like a broken puppet.

"Boss… he's such a coward. He doesn't even have the courage to look at you," Fatty muttered, shaking his head.

Chen Xiao was drenched in sweat. His senior brother, an Eighth-grade Heaven Realm expert, had collapsed at the sight of a Xiantian Realm warrior. A complete disgrace.

Another hour passed…

"Senior Brother, please don't faint again," Chen Xiao said shakily. But just seeing Lin Feng caused him to stagger, sweat pouring down his face.

"That's enough," Lin Feng said, his voice calm but laden with authority. "I promise not to kill you."

At those words, the senior brother's knees almost gave way. He scrambled to his feet. "You… you won't kill me?"

"I promise. It's a waste of my energy. Worry not," Lin Feng replied coldly, his qi rippling subtly around his body, a faint warning of the power he could unleash at any moment.

Chen Xiao's face twitched. This Xiantian Realm expert is humiliating me with every word.

---

"Boss… what should we do with Chen Xiao?" Fatty asked.

Lin Feng's eyes gleamed. "I'm in a good mood today. Everyone here will hand over twenty million purple crystals to secure their lives."

"What?! Twenty million?!" Chen Xiao spluttered. "I… I can't afford that!"

Lin Feng's lips curved into a thin smile. "It seems you're eager to die."

Senior brother fumbled and threw a spatial ring at Lin Feng.

"Senior Brother, what about us?" the other disciples asked

"Who cares about you? If not for you, I wouldn't have to extort a fortune like this," senior brother said, watching as h e vanished without another word.

"Your senior brother is smart," Lin Feng muttered. "Fatty, take the rest inside and tie them up."

"Ok, Boss. Move if you don't want to die by his hands."

---

A crowd of disciples gathered outside Lin Feng's courtyard after seeing several Fire Pavilion disciples tied up.

"Lin Feng… again? Just minutes after being released from imprisonment?" one murmured.

"He's amazing at causing trouble," another whispered.

One young master, red-faced with fury, stepped forward. "Lin Feng! You'll regret this when my father finds out—how dare you tie me up!"

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "You're seeking your own death. Now… Chen Xiao, which family are you from?"

"I… I'm from the Chen Family. A two-and-a-half-star family," Chen Xiao stammered.

"Just two-and-a-half stars? Nothing impressive," Lin Feng said dismissively.

"You…"

"Would your family pay any amount to bail you out?" Lin Feng asked.

"Yes… I'm the sixth child of the Chen Family Patriarch. He'd pay anything to rescue me," Chen Xiao admitted, voice trembling.

Lin Feng's expression remained neutral. "I see. You're important… but not important enough. Fatty, announce that I have the young master of the Chen Family. They have five hours to provide one hundred million purple crystals and fifty Legend-grade demon beast cores."

"Boss… isn't that too much?" Fatty asked.

"Just do as I say and spread the word."

---

A few hours later, the news spread like wildfire.

"Lin Feng kidnapped the young master of the Chen Family and demands one hundred million purple crystals and fifty Legend-grade demon beast cores!"

"He just got out of imprisonment and caused trouble again?"

"This Lin Feng… he's audacious beyond measure!"

---

In the Chen Family mansion:

"Patriarch, something huge has happened!" an Elder said urgently.

"What is it?" the Patriarch demanded, his brow furrowed.

"Your son, Chen Xiao… has been kidnapped by the famous God of Death of the Sword Sovereign Sect."

"How dare he kidnap my son?! I will kill him!" the Patriarch roared.

"Patriarch, please don't act on impulse… don't forget his Master," the Elder warned.

"Damn it," the Patriarch muttered, his face pale.

"There's still a way out," the Elder continued. "We can meet his ransom demands… if we act quickly."

"What is the ransom?" the Patriarch demanded.

The Elder whispered in his ear. The Patriarch's eyes widened. Fifty Legend-grade demon beast cores and one hundred million purple crystals…

"Does he not know how rare Legend-grade demon beasts are?" the Patriarch muttered incredulously.

"There's also a time limit of five hours," the Elder added cautiously, not finishing the sentence, afraid of angering the Patriarch further.

"Contact all Elders. We're holding an emergency meeting immediately," the Patriarch ordered.

"Understood, Patriarch."

---

Lin Feng, calmly seated in his courtyard, observed the distant commotion with a faint smile. Three months of imprisonment had strengthened not only his body and martial skills but his strategic mind. Every move, every demand, and every action was calculated to assert dominance while testing the limits of those around him.

He was back. And the Lower Realm would remember why they called him the God of Death.
