They ignored the kids even in the mid of epidemic because during the experiments they were given demon bloods , so they believe that this kids of the scientists will eventually turned i into demon.
Its because of the hatred that has eaten Zena to mush that she was at the peak to become demon.
Kedden being a mature one along with con and ron who were also test subjects like her lends her his hands.
