Chapter 68 - A sudden appearance

Stretching far beyond what the eyes could see, plains of wheat covered the fertile soils of Celestium. Soaring with the migrating geese, a Lusian bird dove down, swooshing by her friend harvesting the yellow grain.

A gust of wind blew the straw hat off the dog's head. A high-pitched meow came from the grass as the Lusian dog searched through the stalks. Following the meowing, she found her straw hat and lifted it to see an orange cat underneath.

"What are you doing out here, Princess?"

She put on her hat before picking up the cat by her front paws.

"Shouldn't you be with Azure?" She poked the cat's nose.

The bird Lusian hovering above them asked the same question upon seeing the Princess out in the fields.

"Let's get you back, shall we?" the dog said.

She raised the cat into the air to hand her over to the bird. With its talons, the bird grabbed the cat by the nape and began flying back towards the Lusian village.

The cat meowed incessantly to the point it almost sounded like howling. The bird looked down at her talons and saw that the Princess was frightened.

"Don't worry, you are safe with me! I will make sure you get back to Azure as quickly as possible!"

Just as she finished her sentence, an icicle pierced through one of the bird's wings and she began spiraling down from the air. She desperately tried to flap her wings to keep herself from being spun around by the uneven weight distribution. Another icicle then pierced her other wing that was barely keeping them airborne.

"CELIA!" the dog screamed in shock, throwing away her sickle to dash to the crash site.

The dog made it to the scene and saw a mysterious person whom she had never seen in the village standing before the bird and the Princess. Celia had her wings, which were covered in holes, wrapped around the cat as the person in blue approached them.

The dog bared her teeth and extended her claws, getting ready to defend her friend. But that's when a white tiger came flying out of the forest.

"My, aren't you a feisty one."

The woman lifted her blue mage hat with golden embroidery of stars on it, revealing her twelve-pointed star eye.

She stretched out her hand and, as the tiger crashed into her, a barrier of ice was created between them, reflecting the tiger away.

"Screw those Royals, having me go on overtime to conduct some shitty-ass mission for them."

She gazed up into the sun with her hand blocking the light.

"It's almost time for my sugar intake."

The dog then pounced from behind the blue mage.

"Can't you be a good pup and sit?"

Both the tiger and dog sensed something change inside the girl. The color of her eye suddenly shifted from a bright blue to a light silver.

"Her Lukini changed?!"

Both of them stopped to analyze what had just happened. It was completely impossible to change one's Lukini color. You can't even have multiple Lukini, but how did she...

The tiger, not wanting to spend any more time thinking, charged at her.

"LUCIENO STOP! SOMETHING IS WRONG!"

But it was too late. The flower on the mage's chest subsequently changed color into silver and she made a fist before hitting the air.

A loud thunderous boom rang out as both the tiger's and dog's eardrums ruptured. Blood poured out of their ears as they felt their entire bodies vibrate. Their minds were in utter disarray and a loud ringing noise was the only thing they could perceive as the mage approached the bird.

"Well, Viego? Is this what you asked of me?" the mage poked the bird around.

"Not exactly, I need you to find the Emanator for the Aeon of Rejuvenation."

"Bla bla bla, I'm going home. You should have specified what you wanted before sending me out on this job. Do you even know how hungry I am?"

"If you finish your mission, I will make sure to grant you the kingdom's finest blood."

"As if the blood of the people of Fukviyu is tasty. They taste a bit too... how do you say this in a nice way... bitter."

"Ergo 34."

"Now that's a way to get a girl interested," the mage smiled and continued walking towards what was supposedly the village.

The tiger grabbed her by the heel and stood up on shaking knees.

"I'm surprised you are able to take a full-on hit from the Aeon of Serenity's vibration blast. Your balance center in your ears shouldn't be working right now, yet you stand."

The mage grinned before pushing one finger against the tiger's head, knocking him onto his back.

"I really wanna have fun, but I gotta eat soon."

An idea then popped into her mind. The color of her eye changed again and the Lukini in her eye transformed once more. This time into a bright green color. The flower on her chest now dyed green, she put her hand onto the tiger's chest.

The tiger jolted forward, but the mage caught him in her arms. He thrashed around violently, trying to scratch and bite the mage, but each time he drew blood from her skin it instantly regenerated as if he had never done any damage.

The Lukini in her body had changed again. But before the tiger could understand how, a vicious and gluttonous bite clamped down onto his throat. His body grew numb with each passing second and his thrashing grew more and more silent until his limbs hung loose.

The mage pulled away with blood on her lips. She licked every drop of blood off her soft lips with a look of extreme pleasure in her eyes.

"Children of Celestia, your blood tastes immaculate. So sweet, so much love."

She put her hand onto the tiger and poured her loxes into him, making him stabilize.

But due to all the commotion, a large group of Lusians from the village were approaching.

The mage sighed heavily before changing the color of her eye once again, now to yellow. She opened up a blue hole in the air and chucked all the evidence into it before disappearing into it as well.
