Days and then a couple of weeks passed by as I kept working with all my efforts. And finally, after two week's I was given the time for an expedition to be held for the Storm Dragon Miao Ying to see my efforts.
But after making a legion of five hundred Spider Bots, three hundred Dwarven Sphere, and fifty Dwarven Centurion's. I had five of each being moved to the fields just past the Great Bastion while obviously under guard.
And standing outside of a walled-in field, was Miao Ying with four Dragon Blooded Generals and several other men as well. Along with that, there seemed to be some mages who were wearing thick cloaks and veils to cover their appearances.
"Kharn of Clan Barruk, your example does show... Gravitas, but you will need to show their true value." Miao Ying spoke calmly before she took a drink from her tea elegantly and then pointed at a small stone tower in the distance down the field.
"Show the value of your invention and golems." She said with finality as her glowing eye's lazily laid on me, obviously waiting for me to do whatever I was going to do.
So with a mental shrug, taking a control rod for the dwarven spider bots, I spoke out. "Alright, so these are golems and they are all powered with magical cores, and just water will act as the other source of fuel that needs to be replenished for the golems. This right here that I am holding is a control rod to control these golems!"
With a mental flex, the runes within the control rod came to life and with a crackle of energy. The Dwarven Spider bot's came to life and I began to explain how they could be used. Their legs were very sharp, and with how fast they could run, with six leg's they could easily kill people with the sharp limbs.
I also highlighted how the Spider Bot's were also disposable weapons as their core's could be exploded from a distance. Not to mention the spider bot's could also remotely attack somewhat with weak lightning bolts.
But I made sure to highlight how the spider bots was primarily to be used for clearing out caves, or used in otherwise in going into caves or crevices.
"A useful tool for rooting out goblins from their caves at least, now those metal men with spheres for limbs?" Miao Ying spoke calmly as she folded her arms under her large breasts.
I motioned over for a couple of dummies that were wearing armor, along with a large corpse from some monster that had been slain rather soon.
"These are the Dwarven Sphere's. Not only are they armed with a powered spear that can shoot into the flesh of foes and past armor easily. But they are armed with an automatic crossbow, and capable of shooting two hundred and fifty bolts before being needing a reload."
"And I can also enchant the Dwarven Sphere's crossbows with unlimited ammo as well as you can see with the Dwarven Sphere's that have two larger crossbows." Along with that, I explained the joy that was the explosive bolts they had.
Then I had the Dwarven Sphere's blow up the bodies covered in armor and showed how easily the sphere's spears shot into and violently retracted from the monster's corpse.
But then I moved onto the real drawl of this assembly with the dragon-blooded general's looking with interest as the construct hissed with steam escaping it.
"These are the largest current models, there is an issue with their production in needing blood from monsters to make their cores. But otherwise they have thick armor, able to meet even a Ogre in battle and needing only water for fuel!"
That was a major kicker for the generals and even Miao Ying obviously. As, despite how powerful of a vanguard Ogre's could be. Their sheer consumption of food cost more than a hundred men for each one. To say nothing of the Ogre not liking being ordered about.
Because woe to the general who decided to piss off the Ogre's working for them. As Ogre's had no problem eating the poor bastard who pissed them off.
With heavy thumping noises, the mechanical feet crushed the grass underfoot before, with a mental direction one of the Centurions raised up it's arm cannon and then it shot the cannon!
A loud boom rang out followed by flames from the arm cannon and the small stone castle that served as target practice exploded into smithereens as the explosive shot tore up the castle.
Then the rest of the Centurions shot their own versions of ammo to fairly great results. The small tower was certainly blasted to a small pile of rubble.
"That is good, Kharn of Clan Barruk. you have earned my continued patronage. You will teach my generals how to use those control rod's and I will have a supply of wyvren blood delivered to your workshop as well." Miao Ying spoke with a small smile before she added.
"Those spider bot's though, I wish for them to be better armed. Having them used to clear the way for my warriors to clear out goblin, hobgoblin and orc warrens would be for the best."
I bowed my head alreadly considering how to do so. And then as I raised my head, I spoke. "Lady Miao Ying, may I request that the bodies of monsters slain that cannot be used, be sent to me as well. I can use their bodies to make more of the Centurions, among other things."
The Storm Dragon in the shape of a human, merely raised an eyebrow at my request before she nodded and said calmly. "Very well, I am sure some monsters can be diverted from the stomachs of the Ogre's. Now, Kharn you have three months to make me a sizable force, and then said force will be tested on a hobgoblin or orc encampment. Be ready for that."
'Killing greenskins? Fucking sign me up!' I thought but I merely said in agreement. "I will be ready Lady Miao Ying. So long as I have a supply of materials, my production won't end."
