The next couple of day's passed all too quickly and on the third day the same servant who escorted me to a nicer inn, escorted me to a large three story blacksmith in the heart of the City of Smoke, Nan-Gau.
"This blacksmithy belonged to a clan of dragonblooded warriors who decided their place was in the army rather than producing said weapons. I will be back in an hour to take a list of whatever you need. And the basement is the living area away from the heat of the forges." The servant quickly explained.
And I just nodded, knowing this servant was just one out of dozens if not a couple hundred scribes and servants that Miao Ying employed within her service.
But regardless the man left after seeing me enter the backsmithy and as I entered it, I noted the massive central smithy. That was clearly powered vial some magical Cathaian method of producing lava to produce the heat needed for smithing.
'Reminds me of home... Except I have zero fucking clue on how to control whatever is creating the heat as it's not a dwarven rune of magic.' I mused with some disdain before shaking my head.
I took a deep breath before closing my fists as this was my time. It was time for me to abuse my power in having a Gamer system even if it was bare bones. First I moved the central forges and I was right that there was a Cathay style rune of magic that made the lava I found at the bottom.
But that wasn't my interest really. I just needed everything out of the way. As I then got to work on my plan I had been planning since I first became Snorlot's apprentice honestly.
With my minecraft power's crafting knowledge burned into my mind as a sort of leg-up. I had a little trick in one of the most popular minecraft mod's to exist and something I spent... Entirely too much time with honestly.
Tinker's Construct.
A glorious mod that allowed you to make something extremely useful in this new life of mine. A smeltery. Which would allow me to melt vast quantities of metal into their liquid forms, and then through the magic of the smeltery.
I could then pour the liquid metal into casts and they would come out perfectly formed, hardened, allowing me to skip vast amounts of time in my smithing... As I certainly didn't have time to hand forge all the parts for each Dwarven Construct from the Elder Scrolls Universe I had planned.
By far the most important part of this operation was that I would be able to have the Dawi runes of power also enlaid into the machines as they were made... And I never did it back home as Snorlot was a very... Very old fashioned dwarf.
He didn't like things like Grudge Thrower's, Gyrocopters, and other mechanized weapons of war. No he was a strictly axe and armor stubborn old bastard.
If I tried to make stuff like that in his workshop...
My mind filled with the thought of Snorlot's face going purple in fury at the sight of a simple dwarven spider bot.
"Cooky old bastard... I miss you." I muttered with a slight sigh as while I was on the second floor I had put together the basic assembly line that would carry the parts for the Dwarven Sphere which was a man sized construct and be an easier thing for me to produce right now.
Because right now, as much as I wanted to spend the next year making a hundred dwarven Centurion's. I first needed to prove myself to Miao Ying.
And so that's what I did.
After getting the 'assembly line' down made out of simple squares on a line powered by the simplest and weakest of Runes of Motion. I then was able to speak with that servant so that I could get the clay, gravel, and sand that I needed to make the Smelter's I needed.
And once I got the very simple materials... I got to work making the smelters while the servant also brought some menial works to help me.
'Even the Umgi cannot fuck up moving some bricks back and forth. It saves me some time at least fixing their shoddy work.' I thought with a slight scowl as just as I thought that.
Some dip shit human tripped and dropped a stack of bricks breaking several of them.
"Wazzoks umgi's ecroya krut!" I snarled saying they were born of goat fuckers and they were fools all at the same time.
I shook my head before sighing. "Human's are too tall to walk upright. I should have expected this."
The men assigned to me weren't spies... Or they were too damned deep for my tastes as they were clearly taken out of work camps as their clothes were of thin fabric. Often patched over the years and beyond well worn to say the least.
"Oi, what is the dragon lady paying ye people." I demanded the 'foreman' who was in charge of making sure I wasn't like... Throwing the men into pit's of lava and making them into dark sacrifices or something I imagined.
The foreman blinked and said unsurely. "These men? Salt and oil. This isn't skilled labor so they ain't getting paid in copper or silver obviously."
I shook my head with a sigh as I thought. 'Paying people with naught but salt and cooking oil. No wonder they didn't push themselves to be better.'
"Fine, just make sure they don't break anything else. Or I will box ye ears until they turn into caulflower!" I warned him making him scowl.
And before he could open his mouth to say whatever bullshit he wanted. I just turned around and as he began yakking he was silenced instantly.
As I bent over into the central smelter with a large iron cauldron and that man was silenced as I got out of the burning smeltering glowing with heat as I walked out with a large cauldron filled with lava.
Which proved he had something of a brain despite being an Umgi... As what person in their right mind would argue with another man who had a massive cauldron filled with lava in their arms.
