Wenxi shivered, the tips of her ears turning pink. Her lashes fluttered as she peeked down at him, shy but curious, wondering why his gaze had stayed so long.
"Umm… is something wrong with my feet?" she asked hesitantly, voice small. Her toes curled under the water as if trying to hide themselves.
"..."
Wang Xiao blinked twice, dragging his eyes upward before finally letting go of her ankle. Her foot slipped back beneath the surface, ripples spreading across the steaming tub.
"Wrong…" he said at last, his tone flat. His gaze locked on her face, serious. "A lot of things are wrong."
The sudden seriousness of his voice made Wenxi's stomach twist. Her eyes widened, confusion and worry chasing away her earlier shyness.
She leaned forward quickly, hands grabbing his shoulders, water dripping from her arms onto his chest.
