Chapter 3 - Family

---Back to AoT world^^---

Alaric was in a state of shock as he tried to comprehend his situation. He was now in the world of Attack on Titan, and the events of the anime were unfolding before his very eyes. He collected his mind and tried to recall as much as possible from his memories of the show.

According to his memories, now was the beginning of the breach, and the main lead of Attack on Titan was around 10-12 years old. The same age as this boy, Kenji. If his memories served him right, Eren would encounter a traumatic event, where he sees his own mother getting eaten by the titan.

But Alaric survival instinct told him to run and evacuate. He did not want to interfere with the main storyline, as he knew that by interfering, the course of history would divert, and he would lose his only advantages to survive in this world, and that was his knowledge. He also knew that the main lead would survive by evacuating, and he needed to do the same.

As he was running, suddenly, additional memories of the orphan boys' original body in this world came into the mind of Kenji. It was about his "family." He remembered his fellow orphans that he could call "family."

His thoughts consumed with memories of his fellow orphans. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had to go back and check on them, make sure they were safe. As he ran, he tried to piece together what he knew about their whereabouts.

The orphanage was located near the wall, not far from where he was now. He remembered the way, the twists and turns of the narrow streets that led there. It was a rundown building, but it was home to him and the others. They had each other, and that was all that mattered.

But now, with the chaos and danger surrounding him, Kenji wasn't sure if going back was the right thing to do. He didn't want to interfere with the main storyline, as he had said. But he couldn't abandon his family, either.

As he reached a crossroads, Kenji stopped to catch his breath and think. The sounds of fighting and destruction echoed in the distance. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, trying to push aside the fear and uncertainty that threatened to overwhelm him.

Finally, he made a decision. He would go back to the orphanage and make sure the others were safe. He knew it was a risk, but he couldn't live with himself if he didn't try.

With renewed determination, Kenji set off towards the orphanage, his heart pounding with anticipation and fear.

"Family...I have to find my family," Kenji muttered to himself, gritting his teeth as he ran towards his old home.

Kenji's heart raced as he ran towards the wall, his mind filled with memories of his fellow orphans. He knew it was dangerous to go against the flow of people evacuating, but he couldn't just leave his family to die. "I have to help them, I have to save them," he thought to himself.

The sea of people seemed to swallow him, and he heard their cries of warning and concern. "Kid, what are you doing? You'll get killed!" shouted an old man who tried to grab him.

"I have to save my family," Kenji replied, breaking free and running even faster. He didn't realize that he was running faster than he should be able to for his age.

As he ran, he could hear the Titans getting closer, their thundering footsteps sending shivers down his spine. "Please let me make it in time," he prayed silently.

Suddenly, a group of Titans appeared out of nowhere, interrupting his thoughts. One of the Titans noticed him and began to give chase. Kenji's heart raced as he ran for his life, hoping to reach safety before it was too late.

"Come on, come on," he urged himself, pushing his legs to their limit.

The thought of leaving his family behind and starting anew in a world filled with Titans was too much to bear. Kenji couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to find his family and fight for their survival together. He knew it was risky, but he had to take the chance.

"Wait for me, guys," he muttered under his breath, his determination growing with every step he took.

As he ran, Kenji knew that his journey in this world was just beginning, and he couldn't afford to make any mistakes if he wanted to survive. He had to use all his knowledge of the show to his advantage, and he had to do it quickly.

"Okay, I remember this part," he said to himself, recalling a scene from the show where the main character used a maneuverer gear to take down a Titan. "If I can just get my hands on one of those, I might have a chance."

As Kenji ran towards the orphanage, his heart pounded in his chest. He glanced behind him, scanning for any sign of the Titans that were chasing him. With each passing moment, they drew nearer, their enormous frames filling him with dread.

As he sprinted onwards, his eyes darted back and forth, searching for any possible escape route. The Titans were closing in fast, and Kenji knew that he needed to think fast if he was going to make it out alive. Panic flooded Kenji's mind as he realized he couldn't outrun the Titan for long without any maneuvering gear.

With a burst of inspiration, Kenji spotted a nearby alleyway and veered towards it, hoping to lose the Titan in the cramped confines. He could hear the Titan's heavy footsteps behind him, the ground shaking with each thunderous stride.

Kenji pushed himself to the limit, his muscles screaming with exertion as he sprinted through the alleyway. He could feel the Titan's hot breath on his neck, its jaws snapping at his heels.

Just as Kenji was about to give up hope, he spotted a stack of crates up ahead. Without thinking, he leaped towards them, scrambling up onto the top of the stack just as the Titan closed in.

The Titan roared in frustration as it slammed into the crates, sending them flying in all directions. Kenji clung to the top of the stack, his heart racing with adrenaline.

Suddenly, he spotted a nearby balcony on the second floor. It was a risky move, but he had no other choice. He jumped and reached up to grab the drainpipe, hauling himself up towards the balcony. His muscles burned with exertion as he climbed, his ears ringing with the sound of the Titans' guttural roars.

With a final burst of energy, Kenji heaved himself over the balcony and onto the second floor. He barely had time to catch his breath before he heard the sound of shattering glass and the Titans bursting into the building below.

Kenji's heart sank as he realized he was trapped. But then he noticed a nearby rooftop that was connected to his orphanage. It was a slim chance, but it was all he had. He took a deep breath and ran towards the edge of the balcony, leaping off with all his strength.

His fingers grazed the edge of the rooftop as he hurtled towards the ground, but he managed to catch hold at the last second. He swung himself up and sprinted towards the orphanage, his heart pounding with every step.
