Chapter 5 - Training (3)

Neo awoke to the early sunlight streaming through his window, his father must have carried him back to his room after he fainted from practicing the technique too much. He felt a slight soreness in his muscles as he got out of bed and took a refreshing bath to ease the discomfort. Determined to continue his training, he dressed and made his way to the dining hall for breakfast.

During his walk, he engaged in a conversation with Veni, one of the servants who had been kind to him since his arrival in this new world. She had become like a sister to him, always there to help and support him when he needed it. They chatted amiably about his training and her duties, enjoying the peacefulness of the early morning.

After finishing his breakfast, Neo met with Old Max to begin his training. As they started, Neo realized the true power of the Body Renewal Technique his father had taught him. His body felt slightly stronger than ever before, allowing him to run faster and lift heavier weights than he had the day before. Neo couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and pride, knowing that he was making progress towards becoming a powerful knight like his father and grandfather before him.

After months of hard work and dedication, Neo's progress in his training was evident. His body had become leaner and more defined, his muscles toned and strong. He was now able to run faster and longer distances than he ever thought possible, and he could lift weights that he had previously struggled with. The Body Renewal Technique had proven to be a powerful tool in his training regimen, and he had devoted himself to perfecting it.

As Neo's confidence grew, he decided to focus solely on his swordsmanship. He no longer felt the need to train with other weapons as he had gained the necessary skills and knowledge to handle any situation. With his newfound mastery of the Dancing of Blades sword art, he set his sights on learning even more. He spent countless hours pouring over the books in the library, studying the various techniques and styles of swordsmanship.

As time passed, Neo's hard work paid off. Four months later, he had mastered the sword art his mother had given him. His movements were fluid and precise, and his sword strikes were lightning-fast. He was now ready to move on to more advanced techniques and styles.

Neo sought out his mother's expertise in magic, but he had always been met with a vague answer in the past. However, on this day, he found her reading a book on the balcony, and he took the opportunity to approach her. As he sat across from her and gazed at the distant town, his mother noticed his tired expression and asked him what was wrong.

With a weary tone, Neo responded that he was simply exhausted from training and wanted to inquire about delving deeper into the study of magic. He hoped his mother would finally grant him the knowledge he had been seeking for so long.

His mother started to laugh "Sorry dear, hearing you were tired from training, then asking for more training made me laugh," explains his mother to him. At first, his mother's laughter annoyed him, but she quickly explained the reason why she had not taught him about magic yet. "To be a mage, a person needs to evolve their heart which requires a lot of willpower and control over mana. In order to use magic properly, a person's affinity with elements needs to improve, which takes time. The youngest a human can learn magic is eight years old," she said.

Hearing this from his mother made Neo sigh, but before he could say anything, she added, "I promise you, I will teach you magic when you are old enough." After saying this, she picked up her book again and resumed reading.

Neo listened to his mother's words with a sense of disappointment. He had always been fascinated by magic and wanted to learn more about it, but he understood that it wasn't something that could be learned overnight. His mother's explanation made him realize that becoming a mage required a lot of patience, discipline, and hard work.

He wondered what kind of magic he would be good at, and what elements he would have an affinity for. He had heard stories of mages who could control fire, water, air, and earth, but he didn't know which one he would be suited for.

Despite his disappointment, he knew that his mother was right. He was still young and had a lot to learn before he could even think about learning magic. He decided to focus on improving his swordsmanship and physical abilities for now.

Magic in this world was a complex and intricate art. It required a deep understanding of the elements, as well as a strong connection to one's own mana. Neo realized that mastering magic would take time and effort, but he was determined to learn it.
