Chapter 5 - chapter 4

When he walked in he felt many people staring at him, but then looked away as his nothing, Paul couldn't help but sigh.

I walk to the front desk and a pretty young lady in her 20's was there waiting for me.

"Good morning, can I sign up as an adventurer?" said Paul respectfully.

"Of course, if you want to join you must first know the ranks that demonstrate the skills of an adventurer, first of all there are the entrants which are 3 levels for completely novice adventurers and focus on tasks that go to physical labor, then there is the E rank, D, C, B, A, S and SS and platinum rank as the highest, these are people who are at rank 9 and are the highest, their power is at the pinnacle of the world which there are very few, but don't push on increasing your rank, if you want to start sign this paper as an insider!"

"thanks for the warning miss receptionist?" asked Paul with a small smile.

"Excuse me my name is Irene!" said the receptionist quickly by the way she said it showed that she didn't have much time in this job, Paul noticed that fact quickly.

"Don't worry Miss Irene" said Paúl as he filled out the registration form, when he had filled it out he wanted to give the paper to the receptionist, but at that moment an adventurous looking thug with a scar on his face and ugly expression said:

"Yet another brat who doesn't know what he's getting into, this is not for kids better go plant vegetables with your grandfather, I think it suits you better!"

Paul upon hearing this stubbornly ignored him.

'Does something so cliché really happen to me?' thought Paúl.

Seeing that a young boy was ignoring him, he became enraged, and proceeded to put his hand on Paul's shoulder to frighten him.

"Excuse me I'm in the middle of something!" said Paul coldly without even turning his gaze.

"You arrogant brat, I'll teach you a lesson instead of your parents!" said the angry adventurer raising his hand to strike.

So Paul looked him in the face without turning his gaze away.

"If you want to teach me a lesson, let's have a duel to the death instead of talking nonsense," said Paul monotonously.

"HAHAHA a duel to the death? I see you are tired of living-" said the adventurer laughing.

"Jack don't be bullying a child!" said Irene quickly, all the people who were going about their business, some watching the quests posted on the wall and others drinking alcohol turned their gazes to Paul and Jack.

" HAHAHA it's useless he said it in front of all these people do you want a duel to the death, well you'll get a duel to the death, a C rank adventurer is not for show!" Jack said flashing a wicked grin.

The receptionist didn't know Paul's name so she looked at the form quickly, seeing his name she warned:

"Paul say otherwise or you will be in great danger!"

"No need, I already gave my word where do we fight here or elsewhere?" said Paul calmly, he was confident, he had used analytical eye at the time this person bothered him and saw:

Name: Jack.

Health: good.

Titles: apprentice swordsman.

Swordsman apprentice level 2.

Description: an adventurer who overestimates himself.

'arrogant with little skill'.

"he he brat I must admit you have guts, but that's not enough to escape death, call the guild master this one here wants to die in a duel to the death on his first day as an adventurer!" Said the adventurer but there was no need to call the guild master as said guild master had already arrived upon hearing the commotion.

"! Master Azriel!" said the receptionist in surprise.

"Don't worry I'll take care of this problem!" he said to Master Azriel in a commanding voice.

He was tall, sharp eyes with a rather sturdy body, he watched Jack's expression with disappointment proving that this adventurer by the name of Jack was a rope of trouble, then his eyes fell on Paul and he was surprised, as he could detect someone's strength just by seeing their aura, an advantage of the strong.

'About to break the first rank! And he's only about 15 years old? Looks like Jack hit a rock outside of his ability this time, this talent is not something you see in this small place' thought the guild master as he thought how to deal with this.

"I don't want to be informed of anything, since I saw everything with my own eyes, the falcon claws guild in Quatar city is not a place for everyone to make trouble whenever they feel like it, prepare the Arena quickly!" said Azriel right away some people followed his order, each and every one of them thought that Azriel was offended with Paul for naming a duel to death in his guild and wanted to use Jack to finish the person off, but Azriel thought otherwise:

'HAHAHAHA this guy Jack has been giving trouble for a long time and it's weird that he hasn't died, but his luck ran out now, looks like the heavens are starting to change' Azriel thought as a sinister laugh escaped him as he watched Jack leave.

Paul before following the assistants that guided him to the arena, tried to use analytical eye with Azriel, but was rejected, it was as if the person in the first place was a non-living being, no matter how much effort he made to see his state, it was impossible.

'What monstrous level does it take to become someone like that, it's unheard of, an exaggeration! It's the first time I've seen someone inhumanly strong like him'. Paul thought until he got to the arena, the truth is he never thought there was a place for this kind of duels, but on the other hand it was better this way, that way if he beat the other party he would give more credibility when asking for a test to climb the ranks in the guild.

The battle arena, It was like a coliseum but smaller, after all it was already something surprising that such a place was in a place as remote as the city of Quatar.

The sun was at Its peak and countless idle people were sitting on the grandstand of the arena, watching everything as if it were a spectacle.

Paul walked slowly to the center of the arena not caring about the murmurings and stares of the other people, it was only him and his opponent that existed.

Even so the more experienced people felt a sense that it was not as simple as it seemed, after all Paul's composed manner showed tenacity and bravery, to them it was something extremely rare for a new entrant to ask to fight a duel to the death with a veteran C-rank adventurer.

"You were a bit late young man, I really want to let you live since you are a young man who barely sees the world, but in a duel to the death only one of us comes out alive without repercussions or sin!" said Jack mockingly a few feet away from Paul.

"Enough words and let it begin" repeated Paul casually.

"Let's see how you'll be begging for mercy in a few moments, not to mention you don't even have a weapon you're practically begging to die, so I'll grant your wish" There was no referee to decide the start of the battle in the arena, the moment the two entered it was time to fight, as a saying the adventurers had, (When you leave the city, you should already be prepared to die).

Jack lunged forward drawing his scimitar.

Waves of scorching energy began to surge from Jack's body. He put aside useless thoughts and instead only thoughts of killing remained. C

He began to use the most powerful technique of the ten-thousand-year-old Montana Divine Art from the very beginning.

"Mountain of a thousand years descends and destroys everything!"

The massive image of the mountain manifested in the air, exuding its aura of infinite weight.

"Jack really wants to kill it is using his most powerful technique!" the entire audience was elated watching this incredible technique that exuded pressure and terror.

'So this is a powerful cultivation technique? It would definitely defeat me if we were at similar levels, too bad for you that this isn't the case.

At all this Paul smiled fearlessly as he unleashed his inner energy, which is acquired, once the person who practices it becomes an apprentice of a path.

Quickly Paul stomped the ground and a curtain of smoke rose.

Jack's formidable energy was unleashed, as if it could no longer be contained, engulfing everything in its path until it lashed out at Paul.

BOOMM!

All the people were expectant to know what was happening, due to the curtain of dust that shortened the vision.

Only Jack and Paul knew what had happened.

BUZZ!

The dust was blown away by a strong breeze that started in the middle of the sand.

*Silence*.

All the people were silent when they saw what was in front of them, it was as if they were watching their ancestors giving respect to their own children as they knelt down.

What they had in front of them was hard to believe.

Paul holding Jack by the neck as he lifted him up, But since Paul was not that tall Jack's feet were bent in a strange way, broken, his legs were twisted as if he had been hit by a car.

"You know I could let you live but this is a duel to the death, only one of us two will leave this place without repercussions or sin" Paul said with a small smile on his face, repeating the same words from a minute ago, hearing this Jack felt his Soul leave him in pain:

"AHHHHHH!" Jack screamed from the intense pain, and he couldn't even complain about Paul for humiliating him like that.
