The memories Kaneki was seeing at the time were happy memories that belonged to his Grandparents and Great Aunt.
Kaneki: I was actually seeing happy memories, well I actually only heard their voices but they were definitely memories.
Kirari: I see, I guess using my powers have a different effect on you. Maybe...

Kirari: I know I suck at teaching you, I apologize for that but I think I have an idea on how to use the memories you see to your advantage.
