It wasn't just because he knew that he was facing one of the relic users that had been one of the earliest to bond to a relic. Nor was it the fact that he knew that Alidus was the chosen of his race's god.
It was because of the pressure that he was feeling coming from Alidus.
Even though Alidus had shrunk down to normal human size, the pressure that he released was still giant sized. Not to mention that it was strengthened because of the relic that he possessed.
So in the end, it was the other relic user that made the first move.
It was one that was made out of desperation since he didn't know what kind of things Alidus was capable of.
With a single swing of his staff, there were flames that started surrounding him. The flames that were raised with this single swing of the staff weren't any normal flames, these were flames that were formed from divine energy.
